I honestly don’t understand the internet’s obsession with this aesthetic. The Olsen twins have done amazingly for themselves, but they only look stylish because they’re wealthy 😂 they usually rock unwashed hair and smoke cigarettes. Most of us would not look very sophisticated in that manner, even if we had a $6k bag on our arms or not.
I really love how your taste and style are always so chic. My favorites are the *condup* leather backpack and the Swarovski pavé diamond ring so gorgeous. Thank you for your suggestion
I love your transperency when you say that you love carrying/owning the classic flap because of the CC logo. Or owning the Birkin because IT IS A BIRKIN... I just love your frankness behind it ! Great video ! ❤
The "Margaux" is LITERALLY the bag edition of "The Emperor's New Clothes"... It is not elegant. It is not chic. it is not special. It is nothing. Put a little Zara tag on it and see how you feel then. People love following hypes and lying to themselves. Those Olsies really understand how to make money out of people's stupidity and insecurity. (PS: I am not a Hermes fan either, so it's not like I am taking sides here...)
I thought it was awesome! She showed me some of the videos. I don’t know anyone in real life that is into luxury handbags. I’ve never seen anyone else where I am carry one. I have three bags from The Row and a pair of boots. They’re all great quality.
I have the teal suede Margaux 15. What is funny is that, when I bought it last year, part of the appear was that I do not like obvious logos. So this was a lux well-made work bag in a fun color that most people wouldn't recognize as a luxury bag. I also don't like Birkins. So, of course, a year later and it's now a super popular bag for all of the people who are into quiet luxury for the trend* AND is being called the new Birkin. It's a lovely bag, but I hardly ever use it since it doesn't close. *I mean the people who choose the well known brands that they think will make them look like they don't care about logos as opposed to people like me who just don't like obvious logos on anything, not just luxury items.
I like designer brands as well and wear them proudly. People should be celebrated for being themselves. I live in NY and see people wearing clothes I wouldn't wear in a million years, but it always makes me smile to see someone who is just having fun and looks fabulous. That being said, I think that with the Birkin, Capucines, or Peekaboo, there are design details that make them interesting. It might be the hardware, closures, buckles, or even gussets, but something makes them stand out. The Margaux has NOTHING that makes it interesting from a design perspective, even the side buckles are basic. It's a hard pass from me.
Thank u! I LOVE your honesty! I feel exactly the same way. I like the legacy houses, Chanel, Louis Vuitton, etc. It makes me happy to carry them. It's my preference on what I spend my money on; we should all carry what makes us happy. 😊
I love the Margaux bag but I think it’s definitely more my style than yours. If I still went to an office I would def go for it. That’s the only thing holding me back. In the flesh it’s beautiful quality. I love the suede version. X
I think that if you compared it with your Birkin it would make sense to compare the prices of Margaux sizes 10 or 12 which are much cheaper compared to the 17. I have Margaux 10 in the dark mocha grain leather and I got it with a coupon code for around 3k€ and for that money I cannot complain. The leather is thick and the bag seems to be very well made and also it is extremely lightweight. I think that once the next trend comes in a few months that the interest will go down for such "plain" bags. I think that Margaux has place in my collection as I cannot bring my logo heavy bags to business meetings or if I am visiting countries where too much logos might put me at security risk.
YES! Anyone who says they don't want to show off the logo is lying to themselves. Otherwise we would all just buy a good $200-500 leather bag from a no-name brand and call it a day --- unless the design is very iconic and obvious (Bottega Veneta for example) which serves the same purpose as a logo. I love how honest you are with us in this video, even if it seems you just realized this about yourself while filming it😂 Personally, I like both: Loud logos and colors as well as understated, simple colors and silhouettes. Totally agree though, I want the Birkin, and I won't settle for less. Now, the Balenciaga Rodeo - with all the funky keychains on it of course - that's something we can discuss! Great video, keep it up! Your voice is so relaxing.
Liking colorful bags does not make your style loud or garish! It’s just a little more fun! I love neutral bags and colorful bags. My Hermes wish list includes a grey Birkin and a rose poupre k25. I think the Margaux is fine. It’s classic amd it would make a good work bag for someone else who needs something that size. That’s not me. So in the mini bags there are many bags I think are prettier including the smaller bolide, the garden party, the Kelly, the capucines the peekaboo, in addition to of course the Birkin 25 or 30. In a fun color maybe this would be fine. But I like all those others better in the smaller sizes. If you really want a larger bag it’s ok. Functional and I’m sure very good quality. But would I be excited to carry it? Nope. So it’s not about the money. The capucines is just as much and likely more. I’d buy the new slouchy capucines or a larger peekaboo over this. It is definitely not the new Birkin in my opinion tho. And I like logo and non logo. Great discussion Amelia!
It does nothing for me. A brand started by two actors in 2018 does not equate to being a luxury brand for me. If I am spending that amount of money I want it to at least to me look like it's a luxury brand. I think it is quite boring compared to the Birkin or Garden party even if those are in black. Great points!
I think it is a plain bag too and that is why I bought it because I wanted a no logo bag but with the beautiful leather and a touch of hardware. but after using it for a couple of months now, I’m truly loving it. It is sooo sooo nice and easy to carry/access/use. The right amount of space to carry all my daily necessities and even though there is no zipper (I hate zippered bags), the slightly curved sides of the bags close the bag sufficiently to prevent thieving hands. Loved love the margaux for everyday use and traveling. Obviously not made for special occasions. It all boils down to lifestyle and your preferred style aesthetics.
I think one of the reasons I love watching your channel (besides you) is that you have such a different style from me that I then get to see totally different things that I love seeing but would not want for myself.
I'm neither a fan of the Birkin nor the Margaux. However, if I had to choose, I'd definitely go for the Birkin just for the simple reason that it stood the test of time since it's launch in 1984. The Margaux bag has only been around since 2018 and little is known of how this bag will look like after a couple of years of (even gentle) use. Also, the only history of it is the hype, while other luxury maisons can look back at decades of craftsmanship.
You and me, Amelia proud to be loud and colorful! I buy what I love, I don't really care what anyone else thinks. I work really hard for my money and I buy what makes my heart flutter.
I agree with you completely. I would add that there is a difference, and a value, in Hermes being a brand that has been around nearly 200 years, verses one that hasn't been around 20. 1837 vs. 2006. So for me it's not just the label, per say, but the heritage that comes with that brand. Hermes offers the highest in customer care during a sale, as well as industry leading aftercare and support for any product they've ever made. The Row does not. So yes, it is the label/branding of the Birkin that people are paying for, but it is backed up by being a luxury brand. I would argue The Row is working hard to establish themselves as luxury, while in fact they are a startup with celebrity founders and a good PR department pushing the "it's the next Birkin" narrative. And the Margaux is boring! Just my two cents.
Seeing the Olsen twins carrying their Kelly’s made me get one! I loved how they didn’t baby them at all and it was so refreshing to see that. As for the margeaux, eh. The Kelly just hits different. I got a box 32 in retourne like Ashley . I’m happy I have it, it’s my holy grail and I’m done !
I don't necessarily dress in neutrals, but i tend to wear tailored pants and cardigans. I'd really like to see it in person, there's a boutique near me. Also not really sure I live a really leather tote bag life. I will say for the birkin/kelly that you can find it in fun colors. I don't really see The Row releasing the bag in anything more exciting than that teal or green.
I don’t get The Row. It is not a luxury brand in my opinion. It is the Olsen twins line, pricy, yes, luxury no. It doesn’t have the history, or heritage to be luxury. Yet. Maybe years from now if it is still around. It hasn’t earned the pedigree yet. I am amazed how many companies are calling themselves luxury lately. That title, again in my opinion, has to be earned.
I think your Birkin is instantly recognisable and I love the bright pink colour and the blue horse. I wouldn’t want one in beige or black or a classic colour. The Margaux looks very ordinary to me, nothing stands out. I love your little black crossbody work bag. The gold clasp makes it look very stylish and I bet it would look equally nice in bright colours. It reminds me a bit of the Constance.
I think it all circles back to personal choice. I see nothing in the Margaux bag, but honestly I’m not interested in a Birkin. I love boring black bags, it’s all about personal choice. It’s what makes us happy to wear. Not going to make excuses, I like the bags that are noticed for what they are. Love your honesty Amelia
i like the Margaux, however not the price. for something so plain I will not spend that much. also if a contempt company or an etsy shop can dup it for cheap, I can't follow through. patiently waiting on coach or kate spade to make one.
Kudos to well managed internet influence by The Row. I fell for it last summer. I thought was I the only one who thought what a disaster. Some time later a UA-cam influencer I enjoy did a video that she doesn't like it. Hallelujah! A very honest review. THANK YOU x100 for your video today! If the Margaux or any bag suits you, that is what matters. It's your money, it is not the store's or influencer's money. When I ordered the Margaux 15 in black, I was beyond excited to receive it. Immediately upon receiving it, what a disappointment. Extremely wide, awkward shape, zero structure to the point it's impossible to use without fighting the bag every time it's accessed. Definitely not a Birkin but that was ok for me. Different bags for different uses. Anyone comparing it to a B as an example, is trying to tug at your heart to convince you to spend $5000 that you might have wanted to spend on anything. If it speaks to you, great. Maybe if materials and construction and usability are there $1000, to $2000 with some uniqueness...MAYBE.
I agree with you Amelia🌟 i ❤ me a good Logo! IMHO, The margeaux is over hyped and priced. That said, I do like the suede versions most. To each their own. Only you know what handbag makes your ❤ sing❣️ I'm happy with that 😊
Hi - clicked on this as I’ve just bought and really wanted to hear the counter-argument! Agree with what you say - it is totally plain and overpriced!! But I love it and it is a pleasure to use. I actually thought of you and that a black one would be good for work, but a lot to spend for that purpose. My next video I compare it to a number of my Hermes bags including my B35 and garden party, not a bag that many have compared it to so nice to know its not just me that thinks there’s a resemblance. ❤
The Birkin is girlier, the hardware and shape help. Plus the color. This bag is actually trying to be the Hermes Bolide. If you were going to do a bag like this, I’d imagine you with the Ferragamo Hug better. The Row looks like a carpenter bag, too pared down, it doesn’t take much to make it girlier - a bit of hardware and a bit more structured , that’s all. It’s not really because of the specific brands honestly
I think with the row products you’re paying for quality (not that I would know, I don’t own any!) but I STILL think it’s a high end luxury price tag for something that doesn’t justify the spend. You can definitely get high quality leather handbags in that style or similar for thousands less. There just isn’t a need!
i love your style and we are very similar with the exception that i like a big bag. and im more blue than pink. but i love a logo. lol i just splurged for my 40th (not till august) on a Tiffany & Co. large zip wallet in the infinity blue. 😍 i can't wait till august! 😂
You do not have to explain the reason why you don’t like this bag. the people who have common sense and understand everyone has their opinion will get it. I agree I don’t love this bag either and I don’t buy bags off of influence. I buy it works for my aesthetic and my daily life and what I like. Great video by the way.
I would buy it to contrast what I would wear every day, which is definitely not a suit. But not at that price. Maybe if it were a $1500 bag. I’m not actively buying luxury these days. I’m holding out for something that I’m absolutely in love with that I’d be open to opening up the wallet for but to a point. If can’t see myself spending more than $5000 US.
Style wise I like the Margaux more than the Birkin. Wouldn’t pay the price for either though because I wouldn’t use it enough to warrant it. The Birkin is definitely more you because of the colours and flashy hardware. The Margaux’s neutral colours and subdued hardware is too boring for Amelia 😂.
This bag same as the Garden party have no hardware what makes them plainly boring. It’s just sac of leather and nothing which elevates it. Birkin and Kelly have just enough hardware to be elegant and timeless but not too much to look tacky or trendy. That’s the key. I like LV Alma but can’t look at Hermes Bolide. Bag without hardware is like a woman without jewelry - partially undressed 😉
Me personally I genuinely dislike this bag ahahah. It’s a different sort of boring to me. I don’t have a desire to be elegant in my bags at ALL hahaha. I think there’s a difference between understated and low effort. I personally find this bag to just be low effort. Might not be everyone’s take, but it is mine.
I like the suede version of The Margaux bag; but there should be more colors available. One can have a simple, minimalistic bag, but I, like many other people, love a pop of color. Neutral colors all the time is so boring. It reminds me too much of the "sad, beige mom" aesthetic. Being a child of the 70's and 80's; I want some color, some pizzaz, some fun.
Gentle reminder that “classy” and “elegant” is not superior to any other style. No style can be superior since it’s all subjective. let’s practice judging people by their character and not appearance.
I do not get the whole Row thing. Everything looks illfitting, sloppy and drab. They are also hideously expensive on top of it. And honestly, you have a neverfull GM. Why on earth would you want this?
I get why people like the Margaux. I don’t get why the price. The leather isn’t that amazing . There isn’t a lot of craftsmanship to it. I’m totally getting the Amazon dupe of it . I can use it and when it dies.. I won’t care.
No offence to anyone who has bought the bag…… but I think they are just being a sheep following the herd😬👎🏼😂 the bag is boring and you could find a similar leather handbag for a fraction of the price 🎉
It’s too plain and expensive for what it is. I disagree that the Birkin is plain. It has many more beautiful colors, leathers, and hardwares. It’s got a key and clochette, sangels, a lock, and feet. Also the limited edition versions are stunning, for example the picnic Birkin, Birkin en desordre, or exotics like Himalayan etc
@@ameliarosescloset I don't think I came across how I wanted to. I love a logo! I'm angry about the temu and other fast fashion dupes that are so close in resemblance and the people who wear them, giving logos a trashy name. I'm probably wrong about this.
The Margaux bag has not earned it's price. It comes from a brand created by ex-actress twins and cannot be compared to an old established fashion house with expert craftmaship in leathers like Hermes.
This is so true!
And the Olsen twins wear all sorts of brands including old Birkins as well as LV, so not even they fall into the aesthetic they sell.
they do derelicte from zoolander
they watched that film, looked at one another and thought: that's it, that's our gimmick
Yyyeees - the way people would side eye look at me lol 😂
I really love how your taste and style are always so chic. My favorites are the *condup* leather backpack and the Swarovski pavé diamond ring so gorgeous. Thank you for your suggestion

The "Margaux" is LITERALLY the bag edition of "The Emperor's New Clothes"... It is not elegant. It is not chic. it is not special. It is nothing. The emperor's new clothes- i love this!
For me, there is a fine line between Understated and Drab. Again, for me, this bag is Drab
I hear ya!
👏 for saying it as it is
@@stephsanchez1 thank you!
Glad that you’re staying true to yourself! The way you know and own your personal style is very classy to me!

I have a Margaux and I love it. I had no idea it was popular until a girl at work told me she kept seeing my bag on TikTok.
What did you say!
I thought it was awesome! She showed me some of the videos. I don’t know anyone in real life that is into luxury handbags. I’ve never seen anyone else where I am carry one. I have three bags from The Row and a pair of boots. They’re all great quality.
While the Berkin doesn’t have much detail, it has just enough. I find the Margaux bag extremely plain.
I agree
I was going to say something about it being ugly and way overpriced but I see a whole lot of comments saying that already lol!
Yes!
This bag looks like Doc Baker's bag from Little House on the Prairie.
Lol! Love this!
God bless this woman! Her*preluxs* bag is amazing

I think the Margaux looks very boring, and clumpy. I’m usually a “Classic” bag style person, but this offering from The Row, just looks Meh to me 🤷♀️
I see that!
I had a laptop bag made out of PVC that looked like this and I cannot unsee it.

Oh this is a good comparison!
Lol the Birkin is not girlie. At all
Yes!! The Ferragamo hug is a much better done version of the Margaux to me. The Margaux is just too low effort to me
The Birkin has more character than the Margaux. Even the Loewe puzzle (original version) has a lot more character.
So true
Always love your takes on these things. I would be shocked if you got one of these bags. They look so boring to me.
I think it would shock a few people!
Love your style. The Margaux has no pizzazz.
That's true!
I would love a Margaux bag. Can’t afford it so it’s not going to happen.
it is expensive
I think with the row products you’re paying for quality (not that I would know, I don’t own any!) but I STILL think it’s a high end luxury price tag for something that doesn’t justify the spend. You can definitely get high quality leather handbags in that style or similar for thousands less. There just isn’t a need!
i think you could get something similar for less
i love your style and we are very similar with the exception that i like a big bag. and im more blue than pink. but i love a logo. lol i just splurged for my 40th (not till august) on a Tiffany & Co. large zip wallet in the infinity blue. 😍 i can't wait till august! 😂
Happy birthday for august!
@@ameliarosescloset thank you! you too!
I think we see a trench coat and suit bc that’s what Ashley was wearing carrying it! It looks like a bowling bag to me !
Oh yes good point!
Thank you for this video. I’m with you. I won’t be buying (can’t afford this anyway), but I hate this bag. I find it so hideous 😂
I don't see the big appeal
Am I the only one who doesn't see birkin? I see a slouchy alma. I don't get it
Oh a slouchy Alma
I got influence and brought the marguax 10 in cuir. Its too delicate and scraches so easily. I regret getting it
Oh I’m sorry
You do not have to explain the reason why you don’t like this bag. the people who have common sense and understand everyone has their opinion will get it. I agree I don’t love this bag either and I don’t buy bags off of influence. I buy it works for my aesthetic and my daily life and what I like. Great video by the way.
Thank you!
Don't Love it, in any color, but LOVE your videos!!!!
😊 thank you
the Margaux can be easily duped even in fine leather...ill buy the...ive already seen them
I agree it will be easily done
I would buy it to contrast what I would wear every day, which is definitely not a suit. But not at that price. Maybe if it were a $1500 bag. I’m not actively buying luxury these days. I’m holding out for something that I’m absolutely in love with that I’d be open to opening up the wallet for but to a point. If can’t see myself spending more than $5000 US.
Me too, a bag has to blow me away now
Style wise I like the Margaux more than the Birkin. Wouldn’t pay the price for either though because I wouldn’t use it enough to warrant it. The Birkin is definitely more you because of the colours and flashy hardware. The Margaux’s neutral colours and subdued hardware is too boring for Amelia 😂.
I totally agree!
Reminds me of that as well
That Margaux bag has no appeal to me either and I have seen many people online saying it loses its shape once you have a few things in there
Oh really
Whenever I see this I’m reminded of The Emperor’s New Clothes 😉
Such a good analogy!
Ummmm not surprised babe 🤣
I just don't get it!'
It’s just not for us
I like the suede version of The Margaux bag; but there should be more colors available. One can have a simple, minimalistic bag, but I, like many other people, love a pop of color. Neutral colors all the time is so boring. It reminds me too much of the "sad, beige mom" aesthetic. Being a child of the 70's and 80's; I want some color, some pizzaz, some fun.
The suede is my favourite
Its one of those bags which i don't even think looks nice at all. Sometimes bags look so so, meh, or ok after a while, but this one is upright no way
not for me either
Gentle reminder that “classy” and “elegant” is not superior to any other style. No style can be superior since it’s all subjective. let’s practice judging people by their character and not appearance.
Thank you!!
Lol. We’re talking about bags here.
I do not get the whole Row thing. Everything looks illfitting, sloppy and drab. They are also hideously expensive on top of it. And honestly, you have a neverfull GM. Why on earth would you want this?
It is a very expensive brand
Its marketing, like it is for all luxury brands. Some just have better marketing.
True
I do love it but it is too pricey and apparently it weighs a ton which puts me right off!
Oh the weight, yes
Actually bag is light as feather, I was mega surprised. Birkin 35 feels like a stone compared to it.
My sis had the 10. It’s light.
I get why people like the Margaux. I don’t get why the price. The leather isn’t that amazing . There isn’t a lot of craftsmanship to it. I’m totally getting the Amazon dupe of it . I can use it and when it dies.. I won’t care.
And use it without worry
If I was thrifting I would pass on it. It’s too heavy and plain.
Yip
Harry Styles carries it. Sold!!! (If I had his millions!!!)
So true!
He probably was gifted the bag
I do not get the hype with the Margaux at all, to me it's just a big Hermes Bolide bag or a huge LV Alma even 😂
Oh i see the similarities
I like your Birkin
Thank you
I’m sorry that bag is not attractive to me . It’s like “The Emperor’s New Clothes”. Everyone is afraid to tell him he’s nekkid. 😂😂
Love this analogy!
Err cos it's bloody horrible 😂
Lol lol lol!'n
No offence to anyone who has bought the bag…… but I think they are just being a sheep following the herd😬👎🏼😂 the bag is boring and you could find a similar leather handbag for a fraction of the price 🎉
It is expensive
It’s too plain and expensive for what it is. I disagree that the Birkin is plain. It has many more beautiful colors, leathers, and hardwares. It’s got a key and clochette, sangels, a lock, and feet. Also the limited edition versions are stunning, for example the picnic Birkin, Birkin en desordre, or exotics like Himalayan etc
Have to say, i also love the birkin
I don't care how popular or "IT" the bag is. I think the quality and craftmanship of the bag is poorly done.
Ohh interesting
I don’t understand the appeal of the Margaue or however you spell it. It looks like a Michael Kors bag.
Not for me either
I feel like I even hearing less about it now. It’s definitely a fad
I just don't see it!
Why cant we all just admit WHO EXACTLY is ruing logos. Im sick of everyone dancing around it. Trash people. Thats who.
I personally love a logo
@@ameliarosescloset I don't think I came across how I wanted to. I love a logo! I'm angry about the temu and other fast fashion dupes that are so close in resemblance and the people who wear them, giving logos a trashy name. I'm probably wrong about this.
Oh i agree, they are definitely damaging logos, the companies making very obvious rip offs
It’s obviously not your esthetic.
no it’s not
The Margaux bag has not earned it's price. It comes from a brand created by ex-actress twins and cannot be compared to an old established fashion house with expert craftmaship in leathers like Hermes.
Exactly! I think it’s just paid marketing to make this bag the IT bag
No Hermes also has not earned its price. None of luxury has.
@@katemiller7874 True but it has earned it's reputation.
True
Im not 'impressed' by this brand at all. Im more like you - I want it colorful and loud!
Same!
That’s bag is boring and ugly. You are way too cool for it.
lol thank you!
Because it’s ugly ?
lol!
