My favorite X-Files seasons are 1&8 and 9 and my favorite X-Files movie is fight The Future my favorite episodes are Trevor and badlaa and I love Doggett and Reyes just as much as Mulder and Scully
Great collection! I started collecting The X-FILES 2 or 3 part's on VHS, in the late 90s I bought the complete VHS Boxset's and I also bought them when they were going for buy one get one free. When they decided to re-release the dvd Boxset's I started again to buy each Boxset and had a much better picture and a lot of bonus material, I bought the complete series 61 disc Boxset in 2011 because it was second hand and looked really good and when they decided to release The X-FILES on blu ray in 2015 it took me around 7 weeks to get hold of a Boxset I snatched it up straight away and I still have all of them inc the movies and eventually I got season 10 & 11 on blu ray. My cousin is also a fan and I remember she had Barbie and Ken as Mulder and Scully.
Watching X-Files, which was shown on Saturday night here in India on a channel called Star Star World during the 90s and early 2000s was a highlight. X-Files, Star Trek TNG & Voyager - during those years were awesome and must watch tv in my house.
It was probably Dark Skies but it was trying to be an early X-FILES but everything was about a conspiracy, and I never realised they released the X-Files on Laserdisc.
I have the seasons 1-11 box set with the movies. X-Files is frustrating at times because of the religious aspects and sometimes they don't give you an answer at all. And their regular episodes and the alien conspiracy angle aren't compatible at all! I hated the original ending. But I love the cast and the acting.
The video quality varies pretty widely, and having a 'newer' higher quality player can make a huge difference. Some releases (most ImageEntertainment releases) look about the same as their VHS counterparts, while some others (JPN Star Trek DS9 & VOY) look better than their DVD counterparts. In particular, black & white films, animation, & older TV shows can look fantastic on LD. A lot of the benefit of LD comes from the audio as well. I frequently find that even if the picture of an LD doesn't hold up to my DVD or Blu-ray, the sound quality does.
@@StefanHomberger I would probably just do my top 5 favorite movies: Amelie Shawshank Redemption Blade Runner Kingdom of Heaven (Director's Cut) Once Upon a Time in the West Although I think only 3 out of the 5 have available Laserdiscs
It can be rather difficult. Eventually I want to have several players, but for now only have one. I've never come across one in a thrift store before (but I know some people do), and shipping is crazy. You're best bet is to get one from someone who knows how to handle the machines, like a collector. The players are the difficult part of getting into LaserDisc.

I just started collecting X-files memorabilia

Sounds like a great channel. Sounds similar to the Canadian channel 'Space'
@@StefanHomberger It was good - way back then!

Yep, seasons 1-7 were released on LaserDisc.

12:24 do you mean Dark Skies (1996-97)? One season show with ufo conspiracy stuff.
Yes! Thanks, that's it. I couldn't remember the name.
I have no idea what the quality of laserdisc is. I would love to see one in person played through a CRT

@@StefanHomberger That's awesome! I would love to own some of my favorites in LD just because of the artwork as well
That can be the biggest draw sometimes. Lots of amazing box sets with all kinds of great artwork.
The biggest hassle with the format is the space requirements & keeping older equipment running. Thankfully, LD players are rather durable.

@@StefanHomberger where do you think I should look?
I'd check out the LaserDisc Database website, or ask around in the LaserDisc Forever Facebook group.
