- 12v LED light strips can be used with AA batteries by picking the correct battery holder. An 8 slot battery holder will provide the 12 volts the light strip needs with alkaline batteries. Ni-MH rechargeable batteries have a lower voltage (1.2v) than alkaline batteries (1.5v). If you want to use rechargeable batteries, get a battery holder that will hold 10 batteries.

What size is that light strip. I am looking to operate 5M of 5050 with 300 light per strip.
Can i just use more than 8 batteries and use like 12 so it runs longer

Hi. Can 8 batteries alkaline power led 16 to 23 feet length? How much amps are 8 batteries?
Where's the video, , this is just you telling the world you have a roll of LED lights? Handy tip on having to use the extra for rechargers tho.
