Big fan of the show Sam, although respectfully disagree regarding Neville’s comments & Amorim’s interview with him addressed this - the manager has said this wasn’t they players fault but the club as they gave them 5 days off without setting any ‘rules’ regarding travel. Was clear in future, with Amorim calling the shots, such breaks will have caveats. It is to do with attitude and standards and making those little sacrifices to gain any extra percentage of fitness etc. I don’t feel that is different whether it’s 1999 or 2024. Just my opinion

The only difference between Amorim and ten Hag is that ten Hag was doing a lot better with Ajax than Amorim is doing with Sporting. Everything everyone is saying about Amorim is exactly what they were saying before we got ten Hag.
Ten Hag didn't adapt his system, and didn't try to mold the team into his vision. He abandoned it, which is a big mistake. That lets the players have too much control. Amorim has said it is his way 100%. Which hopefully means he will bench players not doing what he wants, which means no favoritism.
