Bottom line: anywhere and everywhere. This map is so scenic it's really impossible to choose. Wandering around it's simply a constant barrage of, "I should build here, no, here, no, here...." Do wish I was a better, more creative, builder to be able to take advantage of all the overlooks, charming little spots and epic vista's. Do wish they put a Sepermura type town in each biome, that might help to give a reason to go to some of the more "less traveled" spots. I put up outpost in these areas, gives me a reason to go there and explore. Fun stuff and great vid
Favorite place to build is on the waterfall in I6. it's close enough to the sink hole, plains and black flag, but secluded enough that I'm normally left alone. The waterfall and pool in my living room are a bonus.
I felt like I was on a brokers tour for properties, great presentation and voice for this video. Been following you for a while, I love your content and look forward to more. 😊
As a pretty new player still, like a scrub I just put roots down right in front of the little Oasis with the giant croc right across the river from the starter locale. There's surprisingly a lot of access to resources around that area, plentiful feathers, and of course the croc to farm up some hardened steel weapons early on. The terrain isn't exactly friendly to sprawling builds, so build compact or vertical. This is also on a solo game, I'm sure a spot this easy is always taken.
Bottom left of D11 just west of 'The Crevice'. On the north-western side of the ridge is a series of small overhangs which make a wonderfully defensible location for a large keep. Walking into the small cave, and mining the stones reveals a passage way through the mountain cave to the south-eastern side and a few more small overhangs. Allowing for an even larger keep on both sides of the mountain ridge and easy walking to multiple key areas in all directions. I always found the location to be a hidden gem nestled between the highlands and snow biomes.
I personally love the Highlands. While it's constantly raining, I enjoy a good grassland location. One of my personal favorite spots is just east of Devil's Squat in the little intent in the land. Just west of it is a Forest King for easy meat and thick hides, the wolves in Devil's Squat and boars south of it prove fur and hides for regular leather. While not the greatest for coal, I prefer it's ambiance. The relatively flat-ish land makes it great, though lack of water means no fishing traps. Another spot I enjoy is D10 in the Tundra. It's close to Godsclaw and just north of the Wardtowers, plus is a quick enough run from the Black Keep obelisk. It's also close enough to hear the meteors fall, and has a small river going through for fishing.
thanks for the great video. I was thinking about building a new base in the jungle and I wasn't sure where to build. I'm going to check out the area near the pirate cove.
No no no! You already got me back into Valheim after almost 3 years away, you're not doing it again with Conan, lol. That said, excellent compilation of locations, players both old and new could find a great spot to build thanks to this. I always end up building in the far north, I love the mountains and winter IRL, always seem to end up building in spots like that in every game that has a cold biome.
I've been playing since launch, but have a love/hate relationship with this game (arachnophobia 😭). So, I take long breaks and haven't actually seen many of these locations. This was very helpful! I'm probably going to build on/near Telith's Island now and my purge base near the galleon like you suggested. Thank you!
@@Zforce911 I genuinely think this game cured my arachnophobia from fighting them so often lol, but I know the immersion method doesn't work for everyone. So glad this was useful. Hope you enjoy your new build 🙌
I mostly play on an official PvE server and I feel like I've built my base in the best spot! I built my base in one of the lakes at the Oasis of Nekhet so I can place fish traps if need be with easy access to heaps of iron, coal, brimstone, npcs, dungeons and an obelisk while having my base surrounded by swaying palm trees and chill back ground music. :D A suggestion of a base location is in the north east corner of the Ice Spire Chasm, there's a big ice cave that one can fit a lot stuff into.
Will see Conan was always my go to since early access, usually run it solo though, since official servers arent that tempting often, I dont care for pvp really..just urge to purge and conquer the realm
Great video Ana & top notch editing. The jungle location at 7 mins I have seen some lovely bases built there. nice & flat with plenty of space for you to be creative with. There or Stargazers crest are my nominees for your base build.
Love this vid. TY Ana! My favorite would be somewhere north with an excellent view of the volcano, perhaps just north of New Asagarth. But Stargazers proximity to a certain entertainer and an excellent "running track" through the mounds is choice! I wonder where the worst place to build a base is?...*Hint* *Cough* *Hint*
I live just east of star gazers crest. 10/10. I have a large chest full of star metal bars. I would go there about level 25-30. Resource abundant. You will level building here. The nearby blackice is good xp. Dalinsia Snowhunter spans here. I would build a well for water.
When I first started playing and found the PreistKing's retreat, I wanted to build there; it was perfect, for me. Then I found it was already occupied... 😏😒😔😥😥

So glad the Age of War is done. I didn't like it nearly as much as the Age of Sorcery. I'm hoping the Age of Heroes is a banger.
I have built on so many places but my top 3 ones is
Messengers Respite 7-K
Oasis of Nekhet 8-B
6-M in the middle, Great for a castle :)

My favorite building spot the Weeping Ruins was ruined by chapter 3 Age Of War when they added that monstrosity of a fortress.😢

The Crevice FTW
The 'keyhole' next to the great dam
I like everything other than having my base wiped, meaning I can’t take a break
