Not having 30-degree temps in an outdoor stadium helps as well. On Night 1 I think folks were just trying to keep from freezing. Night 2 the temperature warmed up and that helped some.

It makes sense because they don't get to watch WWE live like the US does. It was a HUGE treat for that nation. It's too bad they didn't have a wrestler from France to make it even more of a spectacle.

Bro, the French crowd was annoying as hell and a bunch of hypes. I feel like they were so loud and crazy that they threw off the women during the women's tag team championship match lol. I couldn't even understand what they were saying after time, even when they spoke their broken english.
Backlash was a great show, but the absolutely amazing French crowd made it incredible.
It was a mediocre show.
It truly was a great show for a b tier PPV.
U like kids screaming thru the movie while you watch? I prefer proper pops like Puerto Rico had a fire crowd. Energy in France was good i get it it was thier first event but man live comments in post press conference bashes on u.s crowds as if those crowds arent used to it.. they see events all time , cant hate if they dont act like children who are seeing something for the first time. Canada prob best crowd imo. But yeah in ready for everyone to love on a crowd who got their first event so ofc they are gonna be excited like Puerto Rico was but chanting non sense all show with little to no proper pops during matches , I dunno.

I think WWE are going to create RAW tag team titles and Asuka and Kairi are going to win those. As Bianca and Jade are on Smackdown, we will have belts on both like the men. More than enough women's tag teams especially with the women's NXT call ups.

When there is a 2-count, we go "Simplement Deux" (Only Two!), comes from a catchphrase from the French commentators.
When a heel character did something 'bad', we went "T'es pas gentil !" (You're a meanie) or "C'est pas gentil !" (This is not kind.)
During the main-event, when AJ landed on Rhodes' knee, the crowd went "Ça doit faire mal" (That's gotta hurt!)
And the chant for AJ is "Il est vraiment phénoménal" (He truly is, he truly is, he truly is phenomenal).
Comes from a stupid "camping chant" that you can find on UA-cam just by searching the lyrics.

Gable Steveson was a waste of time and money. He spent more time training for the Olympics than in a WWE ring. As for Wrestlemania being in Las Vegas next year, I hope it can redeem itself after the disaster that was Wrestlemania IX.
I feel like he thought WWE training was something he could just do in his spare time, and refused to lose that mindset even after his efforts failed to produce results in the ring.

They carried it in the first half. Then it started getting exhausting. Understandable because it's the country's first real big live WWE event. Also that arena was small. Apparently Smackdown broke records for Gate. How much were they charging??

@@dustinsmith8658 I was there and we do the same for house shows since 2007. That's just our culture, and some wrestlers, like bayley had a MASSIVE pop because they pushed for a PLE in France
Calling Bianca Belair a rookie who didn't stink out the place is an odd thing to say. She's had years of training in NXT before jumping into the main roster and has had a solid singles run with feuds with Bailey and Becky winning big singles matches at all the big PPV's.

I am sorry did we watch the same Backlash????? Jade did not look good. There were times where she looked confused, stiff at times and then just fell back for Kaire Sane to put her in armbar? Jade has potential but tonight unfortunately it was not there.
People excited for Las Vegas have to consider that it'll be a nightmare for fans attending as the ticket prices will be skyrocketing, not to mention the hotel prices too

Cargill is still pretty green, and Belair is just stuck in the tag division for now so she can help Cargill develop.
It would have been much better to have Cargill and Belair form an actual team. Then work their way through the tag division. Finally culminating at one of the major PLEs with a win.

I can't even believe she's already been in a royal rumble , wrestlemania and now tag champs but still hasn't really improved. Come on wwe yall hyping her but nothing has changed. Are you kidding? Easily the sloppiest match of the night. You could audibly hear the ref telling Sane and Asuka what to do. At one point, they were so lost they forgot Sane wasn't the legal partner.

DOWNRIGHT UGLY was when Jade Cargill literally forgot what she was supposed to do during a spot, which is why that whole match got really weird for like 10mins towards the end....seemed like nobody knew what was going on,they didnt even know who was the legal person...rookie mistakes that can be polished

The Main Event between Cody Rhodes and AJ Styles was epic. But the WWE missed the opportunity to label their match "A Phenomenal Nightmare!"
that was off air, but cody stayed for more than ten minute at the end of the show. At the moment He was leaving the arena, He came back in the ring, running like a ten year old kid, for a last standing ovation. Very touching moment

I was thinking the same about the Cody vs AJ match, the build up was really mild, but the match was one of the best matches I've ever watched in recent WWE. Also, french crowd was incredible!!! Seriously, US crowd, learn from them PLEASE! I really liked that they made the Bloodline win their match to give them some traction with the new formation. The triple threat and the women's tag match were also great for me, but I wonder if the ref didn't mess the rhythm of the match when he called Kairi out for not being the legal wrestler at one point. I'm pretty sure Kairy was right and the ref got confused with how fast things were going at that point in the match
About Gable: did wwe forgot him inside the development center and just now remembered to fire him? The guy never really clicked whenever he made an appearance on tv, I'm surprised he wasn't fired earlier.
Gable Steveson was not released. His contract was up for a while and they couldn’t agree on a new contract. Triple H literally stated this at the after show press conference at Backlash. You posted this video after that.

the fans absolutely did NOT make themselves the focus of the show. theres a big difference between those things, these were just extremely passionate fans that have a slightly different "culture" when it comes to chants - and its amplified by how insanely loud and passionate they were. you wish every crowd had even half their energy and passion for wrestling. they were not just trying to get themselves over or steal the spotlight.
Cody even busted out a homage to Stardust, we catching those. The crowd was something else.
