This song as sung by Bobbie Hatfield is BEYOND A CLASSIC! Something that should be remembered for Eternity. As others have commented, you need to see the version before a LIVE Audience in 1965. It is absolutely mind-blowing.
Great song. The live version is amazing because it’s almost impossible to believe someone could sing this song so flawlessly live, the live version is better IMO because you’re witnessing vocal mastery.
You guys should've reacted to the live version from 1965 on the Andy Williams Show. Its possibly the most reacted to video doing the rounds, and watching Bobby Hatfield performing it live, leaves this studio version in the dust, especially towards the end of the song...honestly,you will not be disappointed reacting to that, and may I add,Bobby goes through 21 notes in the performance.
Ah, the Righteous Brothers. Proved to the world that no matter what skin color you are, if you got soul YOU GOT SOUL!!! Bobby Hatfield's the one who handles lead on this one (RIP), but yeah the live version he did way back when is somethin' else I tells ya... ;-D
One of the greatest love songs ever ❤️This is the 1965 cover version by RB immortalized in 1990 when it was the soundtrack for Ghost 💏 The first version was in 1955 by Al Hibbler and since then covered by 100s of artists🥀 RB are the unrelated musical duo of Bill Medley & Bobby Hatfield🎶 Beautiful reaction. Have a great week Enoma 🎎
With respect you really need to react to the live performance. The technical quality of Bobby's vocal without autoque will blow away every other cover of any song you've ever heard away. Bless!
You can't find such passion in contemporary songs. Absolutely gorgeous song. We've lost something in passage of time. Do listen sometimes to "Twilight Time" by The Platters.
1965,classic.That is the voice of the late Bobby Hatfield, the tenor side of the duet.Is his voice control not magnificent? You should listen to Bobby sing The White Cliffs of Dover and Dream On where he shares the lead with Bill Medley the baritone side of the duet. This song is simply iconic,it is known the world over.Make sure you react to those two songs I recommended to you.Well done.
Great review! I saw the Righteous Brothers in concert right after Ghost came out. I wish you could have been with me to feel the electricity in the arena when they did this song. It was such a moving experience.
Song was recorded in the 1950,s for the movie "Unchained," about guys in prison waiting to do there time, hoping that there wives/ girlfriend were waiting for them.
Called blue-eyed souls. They are not brothers. Bobby Hatfield one of the singers of the group, sang this wonderful tune. They also have quite a few big songs. It is magic.

One of the most beautiful songs I ever heard Imho.....The Wall of Sound...... produced by Phil Spector......You should also listen to "Be My Baby," by the Ronettes.... Another Phil Spector production...
The Righteous Brothers have a few really nice videos on YT that I think will show they peeked about a decade or so before Roy Orbison did. But that's not to say ol' Roy did not find some inspiration from them. I wish those videos were available, but I don't follow, or understand all the strange copyright laws that traverse the globe and strangle independent and thoughtful people such as you. I'm just thankful for all your hard work and beautiful, honest, and wonderful reactions to music you guys provide. I hope you get all the rewards from your work you deserve, both in money, and more importantly in joy and fulfilment. God Bless!
The Righteous Brothers flipped a coin on which one of them would sing this song (because this song is not a duet). Bobby Hatfield just absolutely smashed it. When he sings it Live he lets it fly at the end... This is a rare case where the singer is trying not to overpower the song... FYI "The orchestra feel of the music" is producer Phil Spector's Wall of Sound style. He would have 4 pianos, 4 back up guitars, 3 drumers all playing this song independently and then overlay the tracks. It drove other music producers crazy trying to copy this sound because simply turning up the volume leads to sound distortion. Bill Medley successfully copied this Wall of Sound when he produced The Righteous Brothers later albums. (He was paying attention).
This was done in a studio and the version released on records at the time, but it wasn't how Bobby Hatfield wanted to sing the song,he was finally able to do that in 1965 when The Righteous Brothers appeared on the tv variety show Andy Williams,he got to sing it the way he wanted which is also the most famous version to this day, there is a live 1965 version on UA-cam of him singing this beautiful song along with his beautiful vocal version.
Very good your channel. I suggest reacting to Renaissance - Carpet Of the Sun; Chicago - happy man; Bread - Guitar Man; Air Supply - Lost in Love. Hugs from Brazil
He did this absolutely effortlessly. Pure and simple God given talent.
The live version is even much better!

The live performance is completely awesome. Seeing Bobby Hatfield sing this song is treat for any ear.
Back during Desert Shield and Desert Storm I listened to this on an old Walkman every night when I went to sleep thinking about my wife. 😊
Live is best. His voice is golden.
You need to see the live version now!!!

Bobby Hatfield. Many others have recorded this song, but most agree that Bobby "owns" this, i.e., no other version comes close in quality.
The arrangements behind their vocals always get lost...just tremendous. Definitely have to do "You've Lost That Loving Feeling" now.
listening this at the corona era, its intens when you hear the lyrics.
❤❤❤

You two are so cute listening to this song. I was saddened not to see you two FEEL the romance. If you had you might have kissed.
