The Venom figure is an honorary Onua Mata
Change to brown and I'd argue those birthing hips and that hunchback are better suited for Pohatu :Þ
Yes, that’s what I thought when I saw those claws
Indeed
Yeah 😂
The fan version of Miles Morales gives me some great modernized BIONICLE vibes. A modern, perhaps even urban look to system constraction BIONICLE figures could be interesting. Now the issue is to make them appealing enough to sell them to LEGO's actual demographic and not just manchildren who love G1 to death like me.
This is outrageous. We need our CCBS back!
As much as I agree, I reckon constraction figures need more technic pieces (I want to see more Bohrok eyes).
I can’t agree more!
CCBS is dead and they are not bringing it back. Best to just accept the reality of the situation.
I agree that these sets are pretty bad compared to the best of CCBS. They have terrible proportions and substantially worse articulation, etc..., but CCBS is not coming back as LEGO have destroyed all the CCBS molds, except maybe a very tiny few that work well with system sets. From a business perspective, for LEGO to remake them would not be cost effective or logical to do in any way at this point. I love CCBS, it's my favourite building system, and mixes well with Bionicle parts, but I just have to make do with the already existing parts for MOCing. There are sometimes some new specialised technic and Bionicle compatible parts released in system sets though, like in Ninjago, so I think LEGO designers are still trying to give us Bionicle and CCBS fans some new parts to work with. That's pretty nice at least.
@@DanielTjomlid that is why I am holding on to what remains of my collection. I’ll never let go.
Thats the Thing you CAN make them better and thats why I like the new constraction system you can add whatever you want
One way you can add things where you couldn't, but you sacrafice some of the details that you can't really build.
I've said this before, but the fact that LEGO's licensed themes have diluted LEGO's output to such a degree that it's completely subsumed constraction causes me great pain.
I wonder if that nexo knight tile with the web printing on Peter Parker's stomach could be used for some ab detail similar to what the movie designs for the matoran and toa nuva had.
It's often difficult to estinate the scale of lego things from just images. So when I saw that the Venom used a wide chest piece and it didn't even reach his shoulders, I realized that the figure is absolutely massive!
While I do like the marvel figures and prefer SCCBS to CCBS by a lot, I do hope they'll remember to use some technic stuff. as for Spiderman, I supplimented his fingers with some red baraki eyes
I personally think these CCBS esque figs are great, although I absolutely love the hardy playability of Hero Factory era CCBS stuff
System bits are easy to pop off, but you can toss around a standard CCBS build no problem & I just LOVE CCBS for that
Also I adore the original prices for old Hero Factory esque sets, you could bulk on a lot of the most important bits of CCBS for relatively cheap & I can't express how much I'd kill for a return to those prices now that I actually have to worry about money as an adult
I can't get over the uncanny head shape, how could they get it absolutely perfect with Boba Fett and many other CCBS figures and come out with these cursed designs in 2022.
Because that piece was made for boba fett. This is not.
if bionicle does return again it must be with reprints of classic pieces or new pieces that are fully compatible with the old sets, integration with the regular lego system bricks isnt bad but it certainly isnt good
Wish we could get a Ghost Spider version of these builds, just to complete “the trio”
The system seems cool, but I think it sort of runs into the same problem as the Buildable Figures where anyone that doesn’t wear a helmet looks very strange. That said, I would love to see Thanos in this style. A much bigger figure could lead to more posability and detail.
thats a good point :/
I'm so on the fence about these figures. On the one hand, I love Spider-Man and lego. They would fit nicely with the rest of my Spider-Man/Marvel lego sets. They would also fit well with my Spider-Man figurines. Kind of a mesh of the worlds. On the other hand, I can't get past those shoulders and head molds, but mostly the head molds. For me personally, the big wide, clunky heads take away from the rest of this figure. The head molds on the Star Wars figures were some of the most beautifully sculpted pieces I've ever seen in lego. I wish they would take a chapter out of their book.
Yeah I can agree with you there, Those Ultrabuild heads really are special!
The mobility and skeleton of the old bionicle characters (limbs and ball joints) paired with a more brick built armor pieces is perfect in my opinion. Maybe better hands and head pieces, but other than that, I think these are great.
I like how the custom venom was using a obi wan head💀
Would've been nice if the shoulder pads on the Spider-Man and Miles Morales figures had webbing printed on them.
I miss technic Bionicle :(
Same, it would be cool if they did little polypag upgrade kits for each one!!! Venom a little tendril things like in the movie, miles gets his bag and jacket with hood and Peter could get maybe a MCU upgrade pack and get his wing suit and a few extra pieces for the lines on his suit. And then maybe have multiple packs for each character, like 5 bucks each for like 50-ish pieces
It's nice that the torso can turn, but I feel like it's a bit of a waste to not have better torso articulation
I honestly would get all of these especially venom for the parts they come with so I can experiment with this new constration System
I actually changed my Venom’s neck by switching the ball joint in a position where it looks right
I quite like the idea of constraction figures being more integrated into regular Legos. Bionicles were always kinda hard to make into anything other than bionicles.
Personally I think Lego should redo Hero Factory now. Bionicle has had a revamp, now it's Hero Factories turn. Wouldn't you agree?
I would be very down for a return of Hero Factory, That said any kind of Constraction theme would get me excited
I myself moved spiderman,'s arms up by one block, and mover the shoulderpads on the arms so he can move his hands upward. And thanks to this he finaly does not have his hands grow out of his ARMPITS because for me it looked this way xd
Venom loocks like he got some random grandpa with skoliosis
Edit: now you can’t unsee it
They turned my boy venom into gru
Great video
These sets are best to buy then rebuild to make them better like I got a captain America and his proportions were terrible but I made them better and it didn’t take much other pieces either and he turned out great and at the end of the day that is what Lego is all about
I got Miles a few days ago (he was the only one I could find at the store when I checked). I do think he's a decent figure, but I do have two issues I wish would be addressed at a later point.
1. It would be nice if the elbows could bend back a bit more.
2. The thumbs SUCK. They work with certain hand poses, but not for others.
I honestly think that the ankles and hip joints could be a bit more posable. And if we were to get bionicle sets in this fashion, I think we should have brick built heads/face/mask rather than a rounded plate. And maybe a better way to implement the shoulder parts so they dont look like the shoulder isnt fully connected. Now there are some brick build designs for bionicle made by a few different styles but they execute the gear function in one concept. But, im a bionicle fan so I would take anything
it bugs me with the idea of them wanting to "edge into action figures" they were already successfully there. They had perfectly usable parts..just make more?!
A Ghost rider and Dr Doom would be sick
Oh man I think those would translate really well to this system, those would be incredible!
@@BenCossyOfficial Their skull face and metal mask could fit with how they're doing these faces :b Deadpool too!
I’m modding my venom by giving it red wings to look like the 2018 run
Fantastic choice! Great idea
The alternative Venom was pretty similar to the spectacular Spider-Man version of him I like that.
I have already started mocking and creating my own characters in this system and in legos style! I bought a miles ,venom and speed champions car to make moc. i made it by building miles then using venoms black pieces to make the figure a black all black mannequin of sorts the i used the speed champions car pieces to color him how I want. (i also made him a wrist blaster that shoots flick missiles studs and spring powered bolts'. I call him Hectic you could use this method with any speed champions car. In case you cant tell I love this system.
I just realized something, the shoulder plates are made very similar to some gundam hip skirt pieces
My main issue is that those forearms are at the very least one stud too short. It looks off and bothers me an absurd amount.
I’ve built a lot of things with Bionicle
Btw according to BrickClicker a Bionicle promotional set in early 2023 of 40580 Buildable Tahu set
Venoms pieces lok guite useful
lego should make a captin america or a hulk build figure
The knee ball joint is tehnicaly constraction so they do count???
They should make an original ip using this system. I'm sick of seeing these licensed ips dominating every new idea Lego puts out
Ohhh yeah, I'd be down for a unique LEGO IP in this system, that be rad!
If I had a nickel for every time LEGO made constraction figures of MARVEL characters, I'd have two nickels. Which isn't a lot but it's weird that it happened twice, right?
I honestly think the shoulder joint on the Spideys are a bit too low, combined with the shoulder armor being awkward for posing and the arms and fingers being a bit short, make the arms basically the only part I think doesn't work. They could really use more work in that area.
Like, if you have their arm point forward, it doesn't come out from their shoulder, it comes out of the side of their chest. And the shoulder piece could and should have been attached to the arm, not the torso.
Personally I don't like molds they use for the faces, they just don't work as faces or heads for me - the shape just seems way off
So I was finally able to get the miles morales figure, and overall I like it, it was a fun build, but I have a few criticisms, mainly the ratchet hip joints are too restrictive, especially for someone like spider-man/miles morales who have very iconic poses that these ratchet joints can't emulate as well as ball and socket joints can. Other criticism involves the arms attaching a bit too low to the body and the forearms being too short.
Of course the beauty of lego and constraction figures is that if your not 100% happy with a build, you can rebuild it better, but not every kid is gonna think like that (I know I didn't when it came to hero factory/bionicle.)
Overall I think these are the best looking licensed buildible figures lego had had, and I got some ideas for revamps/MAC'S while building it, but at the moment I still feel like CCBS was better when it came to play (granted there is still time to improve, CCBS wasn't perfect from the get go.)
Also if you take the ball joint in the torso of spider-man/miles morales and move it down one stud, you can get some decent waist articulation.
that heads ..........
So when we were talking about other characters they could do, I don't remember if I said Spider-Man or not. On the one hand, you don't have to worry about a human face, but on the other, you do have all these details missing from the webbing wherever its not present, which is more frequently missing than is present, it's almost like the 60s animation. I think the next step though in these figures is making someone that has an exposed jaw or has a domino mask or just openly shows their face. Do they go for a specific mold? Do they try to just print something? If it weren't for that Black Panther bust, I'd say you could decently get away with a Black Panther figure since we're not worrying too much about skintight costumes being made with rigid parts, so no it really is time to get a Captain America, Doctor Strange, Ms. Marvel, Scarlett Witch. That's a whole other thing, too, you have to figure out a way to do any female characters with their hair because you can't just tie it up, their hair is usually flowing.
Now I did think of something that would be a big set, a combo pack, but it would address every concern and give a diverse build. The Fantastic Four. The Thing would probably look the best, you also get a completely different body type. Human Torch could have either parts you swap that allow him to use his fire abilities, or you just make him red and orange with flame parts stuck all over him and that also gives you something unique and different. Invisible Woman definitely comes with at the very least some forcefield type parts because I don't know how much LEGO would want to recreate a bunch of stuff in Transparent, so we're going forcefields in the same opalescent color as the dishes from the Eternals sets. And Mr. Fantastic would of course come with some parts to swap in and extend his arms and legs with plenty of hinges to do whatever you wanted with those limbs. But you get human faces, you get different body types, you have different powersets, the only issue is that you have to get all four together, and at that point it's becoming a Direct-to-Consumer level set and you might as well make a special displaying base to hold them all either together or split up so you can display them however you want. But if LEGO could do that and do it well, then the flood gates are open for any character.
Yeah I'd be down for an FF set in this style. I'd be fine if each member was a different set and you had to buy them all to have the full family. I am very keen to see them attempt human faces soon, but I can totally see them not going that direction too. Oh well, excited to see where things end up :)
Every time I see these get announced, I get all excited to see anything similar to Bionicle on store shelves - however, I often find myself feeling a bit disappointed when I see video reviews. I'm still going to buy ay least one - I need to experience it in person!
I think it's for sure worth getting them, the pieces are great and it was a nice experience to buy and build them :)
@@BenCossyOfficial that is my plan! I’m betting they’ll go on sale eventually and I’ll get them then!
@@empatheticrambo4890 Oh definitely! I'm sure you'll have no trouble getting them on sale soon enough :) Have fun when you make them dude :)
Venom is a decent figure, but for the size those hips are definitely too wide. It would look more natural if the figure itself was slightly taller and had a more broad shouldered build like the fan built version. The claws as well are almost perfect except for the thumb claw being stuck at a 90 degree angle to the rest of them.
Spider man and Miles, despite having a different build to the Iron Man figure, sufer from the same issue with the arms. If you pose them with the arms held down at their sides it looks fine, but as soon as you raise them, the proportions are horribly off and the shoulders are down further than what they should be. This is something CCBS especially rarely ever had a problem with (looking at you Umarak the Destroyer). If they had mounted those shoulder pads to the arms themselves it would be better. All it would need is a couple 1x2 jumper plates
And generally speaking I just can't get over the shape of the heads.
iron man is okay. spider man is cool, with my preference being classic red n blue. what is wreckin venoms design are teeth printed on piece, with em being not actual teeth, and as u mentioned, head being too much in shoulders.
Dude venom is just mata onua 2.0
5:06 what is that laugh?
Am i the only one buying miles and venom only for the pieces to make mocs?
no lol, I missed the bionicle bandwagon back in the day so these are how I build my mechs now
@@ChocoLTRose same
Okay, call me crazy. But I hate em.
Edit" saw the waste swivel. I might have to get one
If bionicle will be this. Im happy. The haters will cry.
Maybe they are constraction. Still don’t really like them or wanna use them.
These suck even for bionicle but for gundam it would work
Im sorry but this is a bastardized version of the Bionicle I love if I want bricks I'll buy a brick set
Ugly future of bionicle
I hate it
Bionicle was original
Pretty unnecessary for these to exist since Marcel Legends is best for figures than these
