  • In this video we visit the Little River Railroad and Lumber Company Museum in Townsend Tennessee. This museum was founded in 1982 and was formed to preserve the history associated with the railroad and lumber company that shaped helped develop the area. The museum has artifacts, photos and heavy equipment that document the history of the railroad and lumber company. Eventually, the company sold 76,000 acres to the USA to form the Great Smokey Mountain National Park. Entrance to the museum is free and they have a well stocked gift shop.

      It was nice museum. I found out that this company sold a lot of the land that became Smokey Mountain National Park. Thanks for watching
