Thank you. I was radicalized by the BCM and joined AZAPO when it was not popular to do so. My Comrades were the likes of Strini Saths, Asha Moodley , Peter Jones. We were driven by pride in our philosophy as defined by Biko. Everything I did after my work as an activist can be attributed to the discipline and pride we learned as members. Today I still conduct myself daily with fearless discipline. The ANC missed this part of their political education …hence the corruption, greed, lack of knowledge about Socialism and how it works.

I hear Ndlozi so so well! My identity is a combination of my history, culture, language, politics and control over my destiny and is thus NOT dependant on 'otherised' contrived-creation. I am African and Black because, as Biko said, The Creator made me a child of the soil. I am not Black because YOU are white, I'm not NON-white, NON-European, non-ANYTHING, I am Black because I AM BLACK and AFRICAN. This is why as BCM people our stand was NOT ANTI-apartheid or ANTI-Anyone, but PRO-Afrika and Our Nation as both Prof Sobukwe and Biko said, hence 'integration' and 'assimilation' into the edges of whiteness as 'the exempted/amazemtiti' was NOT our Mantra.
If you're assimilated you definitely are dead as AN AFRICAN coz you're a sad 'duplicate' of whoever you think is The Standard or The Norm. Rolling in that ANTI-apartheid yearning may very well explain why our 'Black' governments LIVE the luxurious lives that were reserved for Whites, and being totally unaccountable to African people whose votes they negate the same way Apartheid governance denied Africans citizenship and Voting. Black people's Votes do not seem to mean anything or responsibility to Black governments other than Statistics which justify their being in Parliament.
So who are We? Re bo mang hantle-ntle / singobani kakuhle-'kakhle'?
The 'hair protests' illustrated exactly that independent reality of NOT being a subhuman that is amenable to being forced to model the hair and identity as per european school principals' nostalgia for the history that made them the determinants of Who is What and the measurement-scale or indicator which accorded THEM the position of THE STANDARD or THE NORM by which all others will be measured for 'imitation-success' thereof!
As a member of the clan of Bafokeng, I am NOT Mofokeng because I am NOT a Motaung... I AM because I AM!! The 'Hair Protests' were so painful and yet a critical Cosciousness Sign-Post on The March To Freedom, because as some of the alumni from those schools reminded us, they went thru the intense identity-oppression and thus they came to join the march coz it reminded them of THEIR pain. As Ndlozi points out these colonial trappings have been pointed out by #RMF, #FMF change drivers including Identity conscious educators like Prof #Xolela Mangcu who continue, in 2017, to fight bo Mr Price for Afrocentred Curricula and systems. These institutions and systems are in an African country, in much the same way German, Swiss, British, China, Asia education systems reflect THEIR IDENTITY AND REPRESENTATION.
Monghadi Dr Ndlozi let's keep these conversations as conversational as the 'Hair Protestors' did... It's not over until it's over!
We thank the ancestors for The Freedom Road Sign-Holders like you!!

Though we agree with a lot of socialist ideas, I can not truly back the idea that we are true socialist... I think we also have to analyse and compile our own governing philosophy with relation to how we can make it work for ourselves, I think that's an important part of our black consciousness thinking. We can't keep on Living under activism and reaction that's mental slavery, we should build on the base of activity rather.

There are records to prove that the 1976 SOWETO uprising was organized by Zeph Mthopeng. He was arrested for organizing the march and served time in Robben Island alongside other well known political figures. Zeph grew up in the African National Congress Youth League (ANCYL) of Anton Lembede, and moved out of the ANC with the Africanist faction to form the Pan Africanist Congress (PAC). At the time he organized the march he was an executive member of the PAC. He later became the president of the PAC. This does not take away Steve Biko's contribution to the struggle. Mbuyiseni Ndlozi came across as the reincarnation of Steve Biko.

Ndlozi is smart but lacks muscle to lead a party with an unpopular manifesto and policies that threaten the lifestyles and privileges of the society's most high thugs. He needs to up his skill of confrontation to a more aggressive one if he is to inherit the office from Malema one of the days. He is more like a poet or a literature man than a politician. There is more to politics than a degree or good english, we need real images not lecturers, we bow to fighters and we follow leaders not lecturers.

    • @okumhlophe

Brute force may win battles, but ideologies win wars. Once the philosophy and vision become common tongue, it doesn't take much influence to gain loyal supporters, because they already live the story of the revolution. If you want to get your message off the ground through violence, you will groom extremists who cannot negotiate to save their lives - either it's their way or bloodshed. So much for a democracy when there's no dialogue between parties of opposing views. Give that a couple of years to manifest and see if a country barely stands on the other side of the turmoil.
People do not bow to fighters in your context, they bow to problem solvers... because problems cause them suffering. Any sign of alleviating those problems brings the possibility of less exposure to unnecessary pain/suffering. I don't know about you, but his views on African transformations contain powerful solutions to me. Whether that will remain to be the case in the future can't be determined, but as it stands, we're looking at a true leader.
