I have my 97 Grand Cherokee sitting at 475,000 miles on the original inline six and a rebuilt trans. Jeeps just need more preventative maintenance then other brands
Zackary Cain I bought mine new in 1997. A Tsi. It has 248,000 miles with the original engine and transmission. Hearing that you got to 475,000 miles is inspiring. The big issue at the moment on mine is a bad fuel pump. Dropping the fuel tank tomorrow to fix that. Good luck getting to 500k it more out of yours!!
The oil was probably never changed, I don’t buy them saying oil was always changed on a routine basis. Especially since it was owned by their mother. Women tend to take better cosmetic care of their vehicles but completely neglect it mechanically, men are usually the opposite. But in the case of this particular ZJ it wasn’t taken care of cosmetically or mechanically
Almost 200,000 miles on mine but I think the engine been rebuilt it run to good not to been rebuilt, my air work the only thing don't work is the wiper on the back window
im from maine... i owned a 1995 grand cherokee 4.0 limeted. then a 1996 grand 4.o selecttrac lorado.... looooved my select trac grand... miss her. damn u rust gods
I have the exact same make, model & year but 8 cylinder engine & I luv it - the thing is a Beast.... Amazing in the snow - Blizzards are child's play..... I have never had a single prob w/ Engine or Trans.... bought it new in 97' & it has the same mechanic since day one & is well taken care of but a few yr back a squirrel built a huge nest on my Engine in Winter & my mechanic had to fix 40 electrical connections & I periodically have electrical issues - for example, the battery is dead right now & it'll have to be replace for the 3rd time in 6 months tomorrow.......There must be an open circuit somewhere....... I had to weld the seat on to the track b/c of my size (6'6'' 375 lbs) I kept knocking the seat off the track & a few other minor wear & tear issues but the Jeep runs like a dream, very powerful & I would never get rid of it....
The AMC designed/Chrysler executed ZJ's were of average quality. If you got a good one, it is probably still running. If you got a bad one, they could be money pits. BY far, most people are True Believers in the 4 Liter 6 cyl. probably the best in line 6 ever built, with the Chrysler 225 slant 6 also in that club. In fact,. most straight six engines made in America are among the very best engines in the world. Somehow, we got that one right.
My 1995 4.0 6cyl over 200,000 miles runs good....the only problem I've had where I live is car mechanics with little sense...lol...really its hard to find a good car mechanic in my area!! But I love my Jeep!!! It runs almost like a new one.....and most repairs are cheap ones!! Probably most of them I could have done myself, they were so easy!!....the only problem is in 1995 they didnt have the scanner connection! If it did I could do most work myself!! 😁👍
98 zj and i drive it hard as shit! Swamped it several times! 235000 miles original miles! Trans was just replaced at 232000 miles due to me swamping it and having the breather hose fall off due to age. Great truck for me!!!!
My 97 is in storage with 110k on it was thinking of giving it to a friend but the sentimental value on it is strong. I moved to WA state and it's in NJ lol! Gotta either ship it or drive it cross county if I decide on keeping it. Not sure what to do been in the family and garage kept since day one.
I can’t agree more with you as much as I can with you. I know that sounds weird, but we have a 94 grand Cherokee and every single component you think of of the under body and the wiring needs replacement, but the engine runs perfectly and the transmission shifts smoothly without transmission fluid😅. But i’m contempt of fixing it up and making it run again. They are super unreliable, but what can I say, I LOVE MY JEEP TO DEATH!! and will never let go of it despite, all of the issues it has.
I didn't even watch the video honestly. Came here to say I have a 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee with 237,000 miles. I've had it for almost 3 years and the only trouble it gave me was: exhaust rusted in the middle so I cut it and welded a connector on, the CPS went out and that was honestly annoying to get to but it was cheap, and my tail light switch burned up and that was cheap. Other than that, mechanically it's been sound and I have to say it's the most reliable vehicle I've ever owned. I've owned Saturn, Dodge, Ford, 2 Jeeps (1992, 1997), Geo, Pontiac, and Mitsubishi.
I dont know about that but we have only have 330570 miles on ours and it's doing well. same jeep as that one. we went through a head gasket and that's about it and a few sensors. ac and heater still work plus ours is not limited. it's the Tsi Laredo
you seems with this one like my uncle . He owns a 2001 Citroren Berlingo 2.0 HDI and it has been most unreiable car he ever had , i feel like he's having a joy with it every time he puts money on it , we make a lot of joke about that cars and all this makes funny moments in family ...lol
U Should honestly buy shop and store more mersades in there and have a collection , that would really boost up ur channel and deeply modify ur cars like widebody and rims and wing , stuff like that ppl like to see just giving tips bcz this is the only channel with my dream car and I wanna keep it goin , try daily uploading please
Sounds like a lemon. My 98 ZJ had some issues but it had 210k on it. Are you putting cheap ball joints in. They should last well beyond 5k miles. That’s absurd.
I've never, ever heard of that. Many problems on that year making model that's one of the best making models that ever come out with. I don't know who brain ya'll trying to program But I was a Jeep owner of over 27 never heard of such a problem going on with those vehicles that year. You must have gotten a real bad limit in which case you should have took it back to the dealership and investigated. Or you may have a mechanic that's playing. You like a game on monopoly for real. That person needs to be investigated. And then you make a video about that that's crazy.
You guys are playing or lying cuz I ran my other one till jus shy of 400k you literally got to run zero oil to blow it up so you guys are definitely not very good on common sense . I'm on jeep 7 n they rust out or I crashed it but they never quit engine wise lol #shitheads
I've had mine for the past three years and I love it! I never plan on selling it.

Crazy, I got an 02 grand cherokee with the 4.0 i6 Nd it's got 260k miles and running very good
First time I’ve heard that the 4.0 is unreliable. Must have been a dud engine surely
That’s what I was thinking

Had my 97 jeep two years it is very reliable to me

I sold my '97 Grand in 2015 and have missed it ever since. I need another one in my life.
Why’d you sell?
Should i buy this 1997 model in 2023 ?

Breakdown, it didn't serve Kurt Russell too well, LOL
Yall were probably sending it to the Max all the time when you blew the first motor
Mine has 320k on the original motor and trans
That’s what I was thinking

Leonit Hasani Lol yea that’s exactly what we do with this Jeep. Our family knows it’s junk but we still keep it lol

The Conforti Brothers be cool to see you buy car after car after car and have a shop full of show cars
I love my 96 Laredo lol...
4:46 lol...the leather here....I don’t know where it’s going?
you guys should do a free jeep grand cherokee giveaway to 1 of your subscribers. lol
Hummm, very rarely do these Jeeps go bad. I have a 97 limited. No major issues.
It sure sounds like once you got it, nothing was getting fixed on it.
maximapitko got it in 98 and have stacks of service records that we’ve done to it

They last more than 5k miles. It was just a joke lol
Put it this way. If it was bad. You wouldn’t be driving it.
You snuff a Jeep and want a Porsche you have no idea about repair cost.
No wonder, at this time youve only got 19 likes 🤣🤣🤣

I don't think mercedes and bmw are that reliable lol
