This watch saved my daughter one day, I had my phone number stored in this watch as a joke, but one day my kid got lost and she was wearing this and she remembered that and she asked someone to call this number and that’s how I go her back. Don’t underestimate the memo feature on this watch trust me. My daughter now wears this watch daily. It’s her first watch.
I miss this watch. Got it back around 2006. According to amazon here in the US, it shows release date mid 2005. Glad to see its still being made so I can pick up a new one at a fair price.
I don't believe it is still being made, not by Casio at least. Casio don't sell it on their website and no official dealers sell it. I suspect the Amazon Databanks are fake.
Something I would love from a watch in this style is a pared down personal organiser. Let me just think out loud about the data I would need, keeping it as minimal as possible. I think 16 agenda items would be enough. Starting date and time (20 bits: 11 bits for hours and mins, 5 bits for day, 4 bits for month) Recurring: False, Daily, Weekly, Monthly (only for days 1-28). (2 bits) Alarm: Off, Short, Long. (2 bit). The "Short" alarm would be a single chime to notify you, whereas the "Long" alarm would repeat until deactivated. Text: 8 characters (6 bytes: Each character 6 bits) Total: 16 (6B + 2b + 2b + 20b) = 16 (9B) = 144 Bytes 144 Bytes is hugely conservative, seeing as 64 kbit (8 kByte) EEPROMS are dirt cheap (42p each) and only have a square footprint of 3 mm². Even if we beefed up the agenda items to 16 Bytes each (allowing for twice as many text characters), and stored 32 items instead of 16, that's still only 512 Bytes total. == Extra Features == * Reschedule days agenda: This lets you simultaneously change the date for all agenda items with the same specified starting date. Useful if for example you work on a rotating shift pattern and need to switch working days quickly. * Clone agenda item * Clone days agenda

Ive just ordered the resin case version of this ...with having the DBC-611 & CA-53 its rude not get this in its Original resin version...Did buy the metal bracelet version a yr ago for a present and he loves it... These in my opinion is the best functional calculator version Casio offer..Do love me DBC611 & the CA-53 wow u cannot NOT have one in your collection and did have the older version in the 80s calculator watch think it was a 100 or 55 summit like that... But these DBC32s are a true modern take on the very 1st CALC's & Data banks in one ....As for the DBC-611 i wished casio did it again in the CHROME look version as well as the matt variant only available..Yes its plastic still but the chrome looking variant wow !!! Great honest review of an ICONIC vintage collectors piece !!
I have submerged this watch in my bathtub for hours, pressed every single button under water, rinsed it thoroughly and it works perfect. This watch is waterproof. Well, I haven't taken it down to the Titanic, it might have done that, too. 😅 Casio's WR-Ratings, or lack thereof, are an enigma.
Ha ha thank you for sharing that. I am sure that most Casio's have some sort of water protection but I don't know why they don't advertise the fact on this watch as I do get a few questions as to wether this watch can be submerged under water or not. Cheers, Tony - WTA
I don't think that it mentioned any form of water resistance so I would probably not wear it if you are looking to do anything that would include the watch getting wet. I may be wrong in saying that but thats what I remember standing out to me when I was looking at this watch. Cheers, Tony - WTA
Hi there and thank you for your very kind comment. If you click on the link below it will take you off to the instruction manual via the Casio website for the instructions as to how to use the Casio DBC-32. About half way down (just above the alarms section) it mentions how to mute the keypad tone but I think that's all it will mute. support.casio.com/storage/en/manual/pdf/EN/009/qw2888.pdf Hope it helps! Hi there and thank you for your question. At this moment in time I am unable to give a worthwhile opinion as I only have the Casio DBC-32 and not the other Casio calculator watch you have mentioned. Once I get hold of the Casio 53W I will gladly compare the two button setups and get back you with my findings. Sorry I can’t be of any more help. Cheers, Tony - WTA
By personal experience, I found the buttons of CA 53 and the newer CA 56/506 are better for the calculator functions. They protrude just right to be used faster and more accurate. But they lacked in the display i.e no day/date and no illumination. I wouldn't recommend the CA 53 with negative display too. You'll be lucky to be able to tell time in a shade.
Casio's new Databank series watch are very ugly and seems less atractive when you compare with original databank series watches from 90's. I really do not understand why Casio doesn't produce previous versions as before.

Just being curious, why would your daughter not just call the police when she is lost?
@@jannieschluter9670 why would her call the police if she can call who the police are going to serch and call?
