How far would you recommend throwing underhand front toss from for 9-10 year olds pitching around 45mph? Their normal pitching distance is 45 feet.

I've often wondered whether underhand action makes soft toss less effective for baseball players (vs. overhand). Any thoughts?
Ive always thought that soft toss was not supposed to simulate real pitching but instead let the batter work on his swing on a moving ball

In general, how far from home plate should you be sitting? Ty
That could depend on if you sit or stand. I'd say generally 20 feet give or take depending on age and your ability to be accurate and consistent.
