yes but only happened to me once when someone got in and it spun,but on the newer built waltzers they have gas so it releases only when the ride is moving so it wont spin when getting in or out

The Waltzer on Blackpool Central Pier has levers. I've seen a few of them over the years and I've noticed they tend to be very fast waltzers as well

they are for stopping thcars so it makes it eaier for people to get out and get new people on much quicker instead of holding the cars
