Loading potatoes in PEI

For 8 years I was a port captain for our reefer vessels loading potatoes in the Prince Edward Islands during the wintermonths. If the ice became to thick we had to move the vessels to the mainland to complete the loading.
The potatoes were usually destined for South America.

In 1982 on board mv Celtic we load potatoes for Pto Cabello Venezuela, was my first voyage. Boarded in Gloucester sailed to Summerside. Had a very nice time.

Klopt, denk met weemoed terug aan die tijd. Hoop ooit nog een keer terug te keren naar PEI, New Foundland en Noord Amerika. Heb daar vele reizen gemaakt op schepen van Seatrade.
