Calgary recently got some new LFS busses without rear windows. The registry numbers now go up to 8200. What I'm not sure of is that I think we also got 2 new xcelsiors as well.
One thing that Calgary has had the ability to do for so many years.. is offer the same kind of service without the technology. Or because of the lack of technology, and lack of shelters, they were able to expand the service much larger for it's available funds. Considering Calgary had 3 lines and we only had like 600,000 people back in the 80s when most were built. Now we just need to expand the BRT to be just as big.
In U.S, the federal rule is 12 years or 500000 which ever comes first. No wonder where broke. This policy could causes the manufactures to use cheaper materials. Why do thing's right, when money grows on trees in Washington.
The fishbowls were used during rush hour times and school service. We needed the buses at the time. With the fishbowls gone now, we only have the classics as the only high floor buses.
Love the sounds from those old fishbowls!

BEAUTIFUL!! You caught the one and only remaining NFI D40 that CT has!

I am amazed! I fell in love with the Fishbowl all over again. I wish we had people here in Memphis who cared about history.

The GM Fishbowl buses were retired in Montreal in the late 1990s, are they still rolling around out there in the Prairies?
Correction the last fishbowls in Montreal were retired in '02.

Seems that Calgary was the only city that had more New looks than Classics.
