    Reviewing the Harambe Systems Version 2 Resistance Band Handle which is perhaps the strongest and most well built, but it's also the most expensive. I'll get into what it is, some key exercises, and my overall thoughts on the product. @harambesystem

    Really like the new re-brand of your channel and how you've incorporated so many modalities including the original sliding bench stuff you started with. Thanks for the great content.

    I have been using Harambe handles for almost two years now. I have several different versions that they have made over the years, some of which they don't sell any longer. They are very high quality and go nicely with the rest of the Harambe system.
    The time it takes to use the slings are a non-issue for me because I take a short rest between sets and exercises so having to change out different bands and the time it takes is no big deal. Probably my other favorite handles are the one Dave Schmitz sells. I use them quite often as well. they use a carabiner to attach to the bands but you are limited on how big of a band the carabiner can handle.
    I use handles a lot with door anchors and have never damaged a door or broke anything in the over 20 years that I have been using bands and door anchors. Nice review as always.

    $300+ for resistance band handles??? Not even with lottery money! Even $99 for the pair seems like way too much. Great video as always, though! 👍

      They're so high quality and so versatile. they're super worth it if you're willing to commit to the whole system. As an a la carte purchase, not so much.

      @@hybridresistanceThe handle set costs almost as much as the T system. I’d love to get them but it’s a hard pass at that price.

    Great detail thanks. Try using squat wedge as to brace foot against when doing single arm rows standing up. I really like the heavy Rogue wedges because they don't tend to move if floor has some grip

    Another honest review, bit out my price range, but a cool product nonetheless. Have you ever thought about reviewing TRX/Gym Rings seeing as you are getting more into isometrics?

    • @hybridresistance
      @hybridresistance  2 місяці тому +1

      Thanks so much. Actually busted out the rings the other day at the park. I've had a trx since they first came out, so I definitely love those. But yes, things along those lines I'll be looking into as the weather starts to turn.

    Handles are absolutely necessary when doing hex bar style deadlifts with 2 heavy bands and a footplate. But for everything else you can just grab the band loops and enjoy the fact that you don’t lengthen the band.

  • @heyheythrowaway

    You should also try:
    Chest flies (laying with back on board landscape style)
    Reverse flies (standing)
    And my favorite:
    Chest expander mode:
    Double up bands between two handles and use it like an old school chest expander for pull aparts and pull downs. You can just grab the bands, but it feels comfortable doing these with the handles at high resistances.
    Look up "chest expander" workouts, you can do things for basically the whole body, and the harambe handles and bands make this the highest resistance and quickest adjustable chest expander on the market AFAIK. The Robert Baraban one is heavy duty and high resistance, but I think I prefer swapping bands to springs.
    Just the handles and bands alone would make for a good hotel room workout while traveling if you can't pack the board.

    This is an excellent video. I’m thinking about purchasing these. Question, if you were going to purchase resistance band handles which ones would you purchase?

    • @hybridresistance
      @hybridresistance  2 місяці тому

      It's a tough question, but I personally don't really use handles all that much. I'm either going with a bar or just grabbing them. The primary exercise I'd use a handle for is for some pulling motion. So if it's light I basic handle would suffice, but otherwise if one needed to got heavy single arm, this would be it.

    • @jamesk7963
      @jamesk7963 2 місяці тому

      Thanks so much. I was thinking about whether it would be easier just to grab the band themselves. I’m going to purchase the Horrambe plate but forgo the handle.

      Just wondering about the feasibility of doing hammer curls using these handles. Did you try to do hammer curls with these handles? Does the band slide down too much when trying to do them?

    Thanks for this video. I'll definitely try to get a pair of these here in France. However, I still think that the base plate is really the neglected part of these resistance band systems. So much friction. Why not have rollers with bearings on the edges where the bands meet the plate, both to minimize friction and to make the tension equal on both sides? I'm going to build my own base plate one of these days...

      yea my biggest gripe with these systems are the uneven tension on each side because of the friction

    Bands are kinda like fishing rods, stiffer ain't necessarily better because flexibility is an important factor as far as durability goes.

    How did the handles feel with the Harambe blue/black band?

    • @hybridresistance
      @hybridresistance  2 місяці тому +1

      Black is honestly to intense, at least for what I was doing with the handles and exercises. I didn't even think of using the "blue kong". That band is a straight up beast and I think is there just for bragging rights as the strongest band. I'm kidding, but it's seriously insane tension.

    I use bands . I went the cheapo route though. $803 is a lot to spend on a band system. I really like Harambe +the owner but to me that $803 buys an Amazon lever gym.

    • @hybridresistance
      @hybridresistance  2 місяці тому

      Definelty an investment and makes sense to try a low budget option first to see if you'll even stick with it. On that other note, I've been using that cheap lever gym a lot in recent months.

    Really unneeded, just wear gloves or wrap a towel around the band and grip directly. Waste of $40
