First time Norrie has beaten Ruud in the 4 times they've met. It's resonable to think something was wrong with Ruud.
Or something was right with Norrie.
Norrie’s strokes just look like a righty trying to play left handed
This made me laugh quite a bit
5:41 did the referee just say second set norrie
Norrie's backhand looks so awkward...but somehow it works?
Looks a bit like Santoro's, another lefty, who played two hands on both sides (and had a killer backhand, minus the power)
He is able to guide the ball without much spin on it causing it bounce a bit low compared to loopy
ruud just doesnt have the weapons
Plays with too much topspin for hard courts. He doesn't have a flat ball.
@@sean9267 like Rafa
one of the biggest forehand in the tour but ok
@@justinlee56did we watch the same match?
@@justinlee56 one of but nowhere near the top guys
Congrats to Norrie but he doesn’t have what it takes to go past the next round
His forehand has no fear.
Ruud is not great on the defensive. He needs to be the aggressor or else he has trouble. In his two GS final losses, he was naturally more tentative, a bit more defensive.
Нори "неудобный" игрок для Каспера. В теннисе есть такое понятие.
Everytime i see Norries backhand i get goosebumps. Both players dont really have any weapons. Norrie has better shot selection and angles than Ruud. dont see either winning a slam tho
Couldn’t agree more. Push push push all day with these guys 😴😴🥱
but they both have the 2 highest RPMs on their forehand on tour, and that is a weapon. Norrie has two very contrasty shots between forehand and backhand. Forehand is heavy top spin and backhand is as flat as it can be. Imagine how tricky is it to play against that...
what is the deal with the audience booing Ruud?
Its a sporting event. You boo the player you want to lose and cheer the player you want to win
@@Tennisfan4200what rubbish
Aussies think they are Brits.
@@user_uif_ghg_wer_das oh, that is low, very low
@@lianghongtang they are saying 'ruuuud', it wasn't booing 😭
I still can’t get over Rudd’s receiving position, gives away too many points by his opponents simply using a drop shot.
Same position that Medvedev uses. Medvedevs returns was rated among the highest in % in different areas. Sadly Ruud isn't getting the same amount of qualityreturns out of that positioning like Medvedev.
Ive never seen backhand as norrie's
Norrie's forehand became a weapon now, one his eeek backhand becaome very good noe in generating angles.😊
I want to see Ruud's win, but.
Please, someone take this country hopper out.
I would question Rudd's tennis IQ, may be Rudd never heard of twisting overhead, why bother hit the ball Ur opponent is waiting, my my. Half dozen times Rudd definitely could have used over head failed WHY give ball 2 ur opponent like hit me; he NEVER heard of hitting ball to away from his opponents.
what's with the booing? . .both players are renown sportsmen, neither are known for rude or unsportsmanlike behavior . .give them a break ffs
Quizá porque Norrie es Británico y el público Australiano se comporta como buenos colonizados.
they are just saying "ruuuuud" and it sounds like booing
@@yes3330 ohh my bad :)
Not booing. They're saying, "Ruuuuuuuuud!" Pretty obvious.....
@@stonew1927 obviously not to me lol
Ruud plays like a wuss. Always always high percentage shots.
Ferrer
Disappointing, lopsided matches during most of the current Australian Open 2924.. Second week and wer're seeing top ten players against people who aren't even in the top thirty. How does that work ?
It really doesn't matter who won this match. They're both second-rate players and I don't expect that to change any time soon.
And you sounds like a second rate human
Chak NORRIes and RUUDe boy
both suck
Two pushers, they literally push the ball.
Well would you look at that, someone who doesn’t know shit about tennis. Moron.
