$3000 would be very tempting. This game has at least as much going for it as any older used games in that price range. And its new which is much better for people not looking to tinker.
At $3K a pinball noob is buying a box full of trouble in used machine or a completely dud title at best. A $5K used Stern Pro is who other story though.
Good review, but the Zizzle comparison was a bit of a stretch. It's a ramp and primary toy configuration that has been used in many many many games over the years. Check out Metallica for one, but if you dared to compare Metallica to a Zizzle you'd have the wrath the PinGods coming for you.
I do not see any similarity to the zizzle POTC. You can change one thing on a pinball game and it changes the whole gameplay. Any hoot, I like the rest of the review, but it's a swing and a miss on the comparison.
You will not get a new in box for $3000 maybe a floor model that is a little beat up i am going to call it now Costco Black Friday sale $4299 new in box that would be around $2700 less than a pro new in box
Check again, my man it's supposed to be fake! That's one of the things they added. I think you can read the box on your video, and it points to it being fake and a feature, also in a promotional ad.
Just pony up the extra $2K and buy an actual Stern Pro version instead of a toyish cut down Home version. Better yet buy a low play used JP Pro for $5.5K or less in the current market... Even better yet buy a fully featured Premium like me with all of missing features like T-Rex ball catching mech.
Smart man. I'm new to pinball as well. After some research, $5K is a bit much for the poor man's version. If they offer this hobo version, then I'd like to see hobo prices. Under $3K for sure. Even then, it's so stripped that it looks soo basic and simple. Yea, minimu Pro Edition or none for me.
This is not true from my experience. You sure you aren't thinking about the premium? There's a few ppl on Pinside that had issues but once fixed I don't think they had another issue
@@underwaterlevelz1947 I owned the premium twice. The trex works less then half the time and it's really the main toy on the machine. I have the new alien le. The xenomorph grabs your ball with his tongue 100 %of the time and that's a magnet
Buy the game you want on the secondary market from someone selling a Pro or Premium. The longevity of gameplay will be better. Others have said the same on here. This game will be 2k in a year or two from someone who paid 4800 now and got tired of it or whose kids stopped playing it. It's not a good value or investment to buy this new in my opinion.
I'd say a step up from a zizzle, way overpriced. My 30+ old pinballs like my black knight limited edition plays way better. Could be the pitch that they have it at but it felt cheap and slow.
Great video and report. Agree on your assessment of yhe value. 3K is the sweet spot, for someone that does not hace a lot of space and would like multiple machines. The real, true, purpose of the hobby of authentic pinball machine for a HO is to care for it, in a way that it increases in value overtime. These type of home editions value will only go down. Therefore is a no-no for me. I rather spent the $10K + on a premium or collector edition, bacause I know that eventually, I can get that whole pile of cash back and most of time more.

They do get beat to hell in these stores
Just curious. The one at my Costco has a flipper that doesn't flip. How would you go about fixing that? Do you need a lot of skill, or are these things that can be repaired at home with some knowledge?
I'm curious if it had only one of two speakers. I got the impression from a video and something else I read it only had a single speaker, which is pretty crazy even if it's a home edition.
@@scottboehmer1975 you know honestly I don't know for sure I see what you mean in the video and the box and listings said "Premium Sound"
I got my Godzilla premium used for 7,200 . The market is crashing. I'd never throw 5k at that no way !!!!
It needs to crash faster lol I want so many pins
@PDubsArcadeLoft yes me too !!! Arcade cabs. Are coming down as well !! Scored OG 1991 Terminator 2 JD cab. Cheap and just snagged a Neo Geo 2 slot MVS real cheap too !!
@PDubsArcadeLoft not sure where you are but here in Denver it's happening. Also look at pinsode it's happening there for darn sure also
@@PDubsArcadeLoft Hey now I need to recoup my costs on my built pinball machines. ;)
I do get what you are saying thjough the one I am building thouhgt it was going to be only 3K it has ended up being more like 8K and I do not even have the cab built or any programming done on it yet. xD
Doe's not help that pinball parts have gone up so that does not help either.
Are there 1 or 2 speakers on the backbox?
You know I thought there were 2 but in the video it looks like one
It’s been out for three years and sold decently for Stern. I have no idea why they’re lowering themselves by selling these through Costco. 😂😂 Stern is nuts these days.
@@sadboi7537 trying to grow their brand, get new players and buyers, and make money 💰
It’s not lowering themselves, it’s called marketing and reaching more people. If stern wants to survive well into the future they need to get out there and sell to younger generations.
You’re right. If you’re going to put that much money out, you might as well get the pro. If it does drop to $3,000 like you said, it would be much more reasonable.
Agreed Jolly for $3k or less I'd buy it
$5k for a home edition? Wow. I remember buying my pro Iron Maiden for $5k before Stern’s price hikes. Far too expensive.
Yeah Pinball Market and inflation sucks rights now
I’d probably get one for $3000 too!
Boom 💥
Just get another zizzle and mod it with Jurassic park toys lol
Hahaha boom 💥
It's 2:00am my time let people sleep... JK I'm thinking there gonna do more Costco editions price should come down on these. 3,500 - 3,700 range would be a sweet spot. Agreed to close to that pro price. But the JP home pins are gone to Lowkey sell during the holidays
Lol was only 1030 my time!
$3000 would be very tempting. This game has at least as much going for it as any older used games in that price range. And its new which is much better for people not looking to tinker.
Yeah that is where my head is at
At $3K a pinball noob is buying a box full of trouble in used machine or a completely dud title at best. A $5K used Stern Pro is who other story though.
Wont be seeing those in canada thats for sure.
Yep
It’s not that bad of a price for a stern. But I am not sure what the market is for this at cost co.
@@stepsgaming looking for those families with disposable income who like walking through Costco and blowing their wads
Like you said, the price just isn't right. If it manages to come down to $3000 or less, it will probably come home with me.
At the 53 second second mark it looks like I see 2 speaker grills but only 1 actual speaker. If that's the case it's going to sound horrible
@@GoldMineArcade the box and product listings said "premium sound" but I can't confirm if there were 2 speakers or 1, I see what you mean
You will not get a new in box for $3000 maybe a floor model that is a little beat up i am going to call it now Costco Black Friday sale $4299 new in box that would be around $2700 less than a pro new in box
Nice prediction and let's see how it turns out!
Hmm, I wonder if this is considered “electronics” and subject to 90 day return window vs unlimited…
I honestly don't know - does come with a 1 hear warranty from Stern
Was that a 1up fake coin door??? It looked so real!
@@joshgrube84 lol it was a metal coin door
Check again, my man it's supposed to be fake! That's one of the things they added. I think you can read the box on your video, and it points to it being fake and a feature, also in a promotional ad.
@@joshgrube84 right it was a metal faux coin door, it wasn't a plastic mold one like on an Arcade1Up
@PDubsArcadeLoft oh, gotcha, I see. Sorry for the misunderstanding! Then back to my original, dam that thing looks so real..lmao!
For the price I’d pass half that maybe otherwise drop the extra cash and upgrade ..
Solid plan
LED lighting???
I mean all the bulbs in it are LED, but it doesn't have some major light show like a Jersey Jack Pinball
@@PDubsArcadeLoft
Oh that’s good. It just looked like there was filament-lag asif it was incandescent bulbs.
I'm a buyer at $3K or less
Ditto
A home model should be like $1k unless the “home” in question is a mansion
I don't think it would ever be made for that low
Just pony up the extra $2K and buy an actual Stern Pro version instead of a toyish cut down Home version. Better yet buy a low play used JP Pro for $5.5K or less in the current market... Even better yet buy a fully featured Premium like me with all of missing features like T-Rex ball catching mech.
Smart man. I'm new to pinball as well. After some research, $5K is a bit much for the poor man's version. If they offer this hobo version, then I'd like to see hobo prices. Under $3K for sure. Even then, it's so stripped that it looks soo basic and simple. Yea, minimu Pro Edition or none for me.
if you never try it,you cant say its a poor mans version
Thanks for the feedback!
@@VGC-cc4xt Well im referring to the model being offered in comparison to the others and the features that was stripped.
@@neogeo4528 its not a striped version since its a completely different layout/game.I rather have the homepin than the pro IMO
That T Rex has a reputation for breaking easily and not being able to pick up or spit out the ball. I've read that it's a pain in the butt to fix
A few people have said this
This is not true from my experience.
@@LastQuarterArcade thanks for the insight, ive heard the rumors but its always nice to get the straight d0pe from someone that actually owns it.
@@underwaterlevelz1947 it's a great game but when the main toy barely works it's frustrating when these machines cost so much
These need to be priced at $3,500
$3K...or less
I can't justify spending $5k+ on a single pinball when digital exists
I said that about spending $10K+...then Labyrinth came into my life
Buy the game you want on the secondary market from someone selling a Pro or Premium. The longevity of gameplay will be better. Others have said the same on here.
This game will be 2k in a year or two from someone who paid 4800 now and got tired of it or whose kids stopped playing it. It's not a good value or investment to buy this new in my opinion.
that game will never be lower than 3.5/4k
@VGC-cc4xt ok. You think so?
Cool except for bogarting the machine and not letting the kid play lol
@@joe_higachi oh jeez lol he played right after me, his parents taught him well, patience and wait your turn
Haha nope!
Nope
I'd say a step up from a zizzle, way overpriced. My 30+ old pinballs like my black knight limited edition plays way better. Could be the pitch that they have it at but it felt cheap and slow.
Oh yeah way better than the Zizzle which is just a plastic toy
Great video and report. Agree on your assessment of yhe value. 3K is the sweet spot, for someone that does not hace a lot of space and would like multiple machines. The real, true, purpose of the hobby of authentic pinball machine for a HO is to care for it, in a way that it increases in value overtime. These type of home editions value will only go down. Therefore is a no-no for me. I rather spent the $10K + on a premium or collector edition, bacause I know that eventually, I can get that whole pile of cash back and most of time more.
Great feedback thank you
save up another 3 grand and get the REAL version. These things should be $3000 tops
Agreed 👍
