This is exactly our experience of Parmax pumps. On average the new ones seem to be lasting 3 months. A good one will last 6 months. Some of them only last for a month. Seems to be the result of poor manufacturing. How is the sureflow pump working?
Too funny -- I had the same issue on the same pump and also had to junk it because I couldn't get the end of the pump off the axle (lock nut is there but corroded on). Seems like that seal leaks and causes a failure often
I've had two jabsco pumps go exactly the same way, it's not the motor, but the bearing you don't show in the video that fails, it's rubbish of jabsco to not seal the motor chamber properly, if you have one and it still works pull it apart now and oil the bearings and seal it properly with silicone before this happens
Nice video, I may have the same problem but now I know what to do to take it apart and find out. I like the comment of using WD40 and replace the bearing to fix the problem. But I wonder if that’s even worth it since they all seem to have this gasket leak issue. The problem will just come back eventually, right?
I replaced the failed pump with a Surflo Aqua King II 3 GPH pump that cost about $120. Works OK but the flow isn't as robust as the old pump. I should have installed a higher capacity pump, I guess, but given the light use it gets (running some fresh water or flushing the head while underway) it will do. Thanks for your interest!
Had same pump one lasted 9 months in my camper van the next 12 months . Bought a sureflow lasted 18 months so far so good

I had exact same pump, lasted about six months. Wasn’t cheap either, exact same failure as this guy.
Well damn. We were hoping the video would end with a way to fix it, but looks like we’ll just have to replace.

Great video! Very good info! Thank you!!👍
The front bearing is replaceable and the rest of of the motor need to be cleaned with Wd40 and it should be good as new
When you pulled out the armiture the magnate came out with it. Not suppose to. Magnate is rubbing against armature and needs to be epoxyed back in.
I have pakpump the micro switch was the problem
I like! Keep it up!
How is the new pump holding up? What model did you replace it with?
