what i always loved about your videos was the story telling. your ways of hiking (regarding minimalism, speed you're at and such) may seem very radical for many but your story telling is one of the best and has stayed on top while other YTs content seems to wash out a lot over a few years. I giggled a tiny bit when you showed off that you've picked up painting, when you literally try to drop everything else to be on your way as fast as possible. full circle back to the beginning of this comment. It's your story telling that keeps me joining in and your paintings really add a lot to it and show us the details which you pick out yourself. It is so nice to see you succeed in what you do and i thank you for sharing your stories in your personal style. Stay safe and live a beautiful life!
You're walking through my playground! I grew up in the southern Utah desert and do a lot of backcountry canyoneering. I've spent a lot of time in some of these places, yet no time in some of these places. I'm just hearing about this trail. I wish I had time to take off to just thru hike, but I think I'll just section hike this trail. I was planning to do the Great Western, but this Hayduke is more my type of landscape. I love the videos and am looking forward to watching them all!
Leaves me speachless. Next level hiking and next level filming. Truly amazing. Thank you! I am so much looking forward to watching the rest of the videos. I will have to discipline myself not to binge watch them but to cherish them one by one.
Utah is my home state, it's incredible to see so many familiar sights in one of your videos. While the Hayduke is daunting, it is also a sort of "dream trail" for many, the kind of isolation and raw terrain is very unique. I'm so excited to see the rest of it!
So stoked to watch this journey! I've never been a desert person, but this trail calls to my soul. I hope to experience the energy of this trail in the next couple of years. For now I'll look forward to Mondays and your beautiful videos. Thanks to both of you for sharing this with the rest of us.
Not too long ago I took a sudden unplanned road trip from central AZ up Route 89 into Utah, to Zion, ending in a town called Hurricane outside of Zion. It was unbelievably beautiful and I can't wait to see what this terrain looks like from the trail:)
I love this part of the US. It really makes you appreciate that we are floating on a rock in space. The first time I went through Canyonlands was a mind altering experience. Words cannot describe the magnitude. I can't believe you are hiking through 800 mi of this desert. Best wishes. -Bless
We spent 2 weeks out in Arches,Capital Reef,Canyonlands beginning of June..Also did WirePass/Buckskin Gulch Slot Canyon along with Lower Calf Creek Falls…Been looking forward to your videos coming out..Will be binge watching these now finally…Thanks ahead of time cause I know they will be awesome🥾🥾🥾🚶♂️🚶♂️🚶♂️🚶♂️
The hayduke scares the crap out of me as a predominantly solo backpacker. Heights / borderline bouldering / rock climbing bother the crap out of me. Thank you for sharing.
OMG! The water colors are back! Are they? I hope there will be a water color painting every video of this trail. :) Спасибо! Anyway, I'm excited to watch this regardless of whether painting will be featured. (I hope they are. :)
Nicely done! So many hiking videos are excruciating to watch, but not this one. I'm pecking away at section hiking the Hayduke, so look forward to future episodes.
You make some of the best videos on YT. Beautifully shot, full of great information, and expertly edited. I love the use of narration and “on trail” audio. I really enjoy your channel.
The people-at-the-beginning / solitude journey / people-at-the-end kinda resembles a journey to the Moon. Can't wait to see how your "splashdown" and return to civilization goes.
Such an excellent start to this adventure- just crazy beautiful- really whetted the appetite for more as did the Instagram photos. Loved your time lapse of you painting the Hayduke Trail map!
Jupiter, awesome to see you guys again, I've been waiting almost patiently for the first video. Your filming and narration is impeccable as always! I'll be heading to the GTNP in two weeks, stay safe and take care of each other!
Can't wait for all the other following episodes. Thanks Jupiter and Sprocket. So cool y'all started at the Arches. Were Edward Abbey worked and developed much of his book. DESERT SOITAIRE.
The character from which the trail is named after is definitely worth a read - Edward Abbey does a great job describing the natural surroundings the area all with a little eco-terrorism! The Monkey Wrench Gang is one of my favorites and made me want to do this hike someday. Glad I could see a great preview, thanks Jupiter
glad u have a perdner !!! single travel is, as many x's, is a mental play n doubt upstairs !! this yy the military pushes us sooo hard. the brain is in control !!!!😮
So glad to see this! I was worried about you. My bad. For some reason, I assumed you'd be cranking out videos immediately after conveying your trail plans. Glad you are ok! Can't wait to follow your adventures on the Hayduke!
Nice video. As a solo bike tourer, I'm very interested in the logistics like, where did you park your van for 2 months? And how are you going to get back to it in the end? I wish you excellent weather for your hike.
Watching this I was reminded of the old-time Fred Astaire dance movies. His dance partner was Ginger Rogers and she "did everything that Fred Astaire did. She just did it backwards and in high heels.” That's sort of how I feel about your hiking partner Sprocket. She does everything you do, but in a dress. One tough lady. The two of you give new meaning to the word "tough." Best of luck.
A new Hayduke video will come out every week on Mondays 🙂 thank you for watching!
Yay!
Thank you for sharing this adventure, I'm really looking forward to the coming episodes!
Looking forward to it!!! Thank you...
Awesome journey!
Thank you for taking us on your journey :)
Ok, I know Jupiters videos are beautiful but that art map was amazing.
No kidding. I'd pay good money for maps like that as posters or something
Happy to be following this journey 🤍👣
The series starts!!!
Awesome!!! Thank you so much for your very informative videos!!!! Love your colorful drawing / map of the Hayduke Trail!!!
This video feels so genuine, creative, and peaceful :) Can't wait for the rest of the series after seeing all the pictures!

I loved the map painting in your sketch book, a beautiful element to kick off this series. I enjoyed following your progress on IG.
so so exciting to see these 🥲!!

The crowd goes wild 🙌 This trail is looking beautiful already 🌵

That painting was amazing! Spending DAYS to cache food is just wild. Can't wait to see the rest of the series!

So stoked to see this. I’ve been in Moab since March 11. Love seeing it from your perspective!
omg that map is absolutely amazing, i would totally just watch you paint if i could, so excited for you to post again! 😇
The people-at-the-beginning / solitude journey / people-at-the-end kinda resembles a journey to the Moon. Can't wait to see how your "splashdown" and return to civilization goes.
Thanks for sharing. Amazing and congratulations!
You do a great job on these, I'm looking forward to experiencing the Hayduke through your eyes and excellent narration.
Love the starting photos. Nice disc in the van.

I've been so excited, waiting for your Hayduke videos. It's also really cool to see you hike in places I often hike.
What a wonderful place to often be hiking!!
Jupiter, awesome to see you guys again, I've been waiting almost patiently for the first video. Your filming and narration is impeccable as always! I'll be heading to the GTNP in two weeks, stay safe and take care of each other!
Hayduke is definitely on my list of "someday...". Really excited to see this series. Glad you made it through safely.
Wow man. You're a great artist!
I’m so amped for this journey bro!! Thanks for bringing us along
Can't wait for all the other following episodes. Thanks Jupiter and Sprocket. So cool y'all started at the Arches. Were Edward Abbey worked and developed much of his book. DESERT SOITAIRE.
Looking forward to the journey and the adventure. 😀👍
I am so excited to follow your journey. I love the desert so much.
Wow, Finnally a video of the Hayduke Trail 👣
Spectacular part of the world Jupiter. Nothing like it anywhere else in the world.
Amazing video! I love the visual that you drew, can't wait to see whats to come!
It's an incredible book! I think desert solitaire is more fitting for this trail in some ways, but I enjoy them both
Excellent - looking forward to another solid series! Thank you for sharing!
Very nice work! Cant wait to see more!
Love it! I'm doing the CDT this year but the Hayduke would be amazing for the future!
I have been eagerly anticipating this release. As always, my thanks for sharing.
Yes! I've been waiting for this 😃
So excited to watch this series! Thank you for your efforts in sharing it.
Always glad to see you post.
Excited to learn about this trail
Been waiting to see how you went, nice video.
Ohh wow so pretty! Thanks for the cool footage and information. Can't wait for the next video. - GS
I've been long awaiting this video. What else am I supposed to watch before work?
I just found your channel. Looking forward to following your adventures
glad u have a perdner !!! single travel is, as many x's, is a mental play n doubt upstairs !! this yy the military pushes us sooo hard.
the brain is in control !!!!😮
So glad to see this! I was worried about you. My bad. For some reason, I assumed you'd be cranking out videos immediately after conveying your trail plans. Glad you are ok! Can't wait to follow your adventures on the Hayduke!
I like to spend a little extra time putting things together instead of a typical vlog 🙂
@@JupiterHikes You do a great job! Thanks for sharing your adventures!!
Looking forward to your hike!
looking forward to this!
It would be cool to see you hike where Edward Abbey was laid to rest. Desert Solitaire is required reading.
Its the disc golf bag in the van for me ;) Would love to play some disc with you along the Colorado Trail, ill bring extras
Great video... I love your drawings!
Nice video. As a solo bike tourer, I'm very interested in the logistics like, where did you park your van for 2 months? And how are you going to get back to it in the end? I wish you excellent weather for your hike.
I have been looking forward to this! Thanks for posting your adventure! When do you start the CT?
Very soon!!
Godspeed to y'all from Louisiana.
Wow! Looks incredible. 👌🏼👌🏼
Awesome video. Enjoyed a lot
What everyone else says. :>) Thanks for making it out and sharing these videos. Very much looking forward to them.
hey what camera setup are you using? The quality of the images/video are great!!
Awesomeness!!
tell me you tried the little cafe just outside of escalante insie the grand staircase monument, theyre so much fun
Hayduke lives!
I have long suspected you used to be a writer, and the sketch book definitely added to my confirmation bias…
always nice vids
Jupe this is awesome news from you and your pal😅.
Can't 6 2 c the WHOLE thing in one shot 😂
Yeassssss!
The goal should always be to enjoy all the aspects of anything! I think you succeeded. Have you remodeled your van? It looks different.
I've made changes here and there over the years, little improvements over time when I feel I need something!
Where do you guys park your van during the hike?
What shoes are you hiking in? Are these Altras?
BOOM!!!!
Where did you leave your van for this hike?
I left it at a storage place in Moab! Carroll's storage! It was really cheap and Carroll was very friendly
@@JupiterHikes Hey, thanks for letting me know!
Do you just leave your van in a parking lot?
Yeah boyyyyyyy
I love red rock country
Did I spy a disc golf disc on your van door?
Yeah many of them!

she's wearing shorts...
The last two trails we did she wore a dress, and the next trail we'll do she's in a dress. So he's not wrong!
So excited to watch and feel apart of your adventure. I hope to do this trail someday.
👍🐿👍❤️
The area looks like a flash flood waiting to happen
