Iberia flew to several cities in Central America out of the concurse E Satellite. They'd wait for the jumbo to come in mid day and then all depart around the same time. 3 or 4 flights a day.
Kinda surprised how many 737-200s were still flying into MIA in 1997. It’s nice to see USAir, Continental, TWA and Northwest still flying in these old vids. And an Iberia DC-9? South Africa 747? Just awesome
My first flight was BLL-LGW-MIA DM (maersk air) & BA. 96' was the year 737-300 & 747-200 i get quite sentimental, if you have LGW from the same year then please upload

My ears are ringing now, what a fantastic era of jet aviation bliss.
Indeed! This is true aviation, the roar of turbojet engines has some of the best harmonies in the history of aviation
That Ecuatoriana DC-10 at the end rocketing toward the sky was magnificent.

Anybody catch that Iberia DC-9? Cool, but why?
Extensive maintenance only available at Douglas factories?
Back then, Iberia operated a mini hub with flights to several destinations in Central America and the Caribbean.
@@fcou4464 just read into it. Last flight when hub closed was sept 28 2004 when the last Iberia a319 left for good. Sad.

12:52 how in the world would you get from Miami to Madrid in such a small airplane
Iberia flew smaller planes to Central America. Used MIA as a transit point. Until TSA insulted the Spanish Royal family!!!
Iberia used DC-10-30 and Boeing 747-200, today with Airbus A330-200/300
