中禅寺湖方面からの下り専用道路の第一いろは坂、主なカーブには標識があり「な」から「ん」までの28のカーブあります。最大勾配は14％あり道幅は広めの１車線道路です。
上り専用の第二いろは坂は２車線道路、上りの第二に比べて下りの第一の方がヘアピン状の道が多くきつい急カーブが連続します。

The first Iroha slope of the downhill road from Lake Chuzenji, the main curve is signposted, and there are 28 curves from "na" to "un". It is a wide, one-lane road with a maximum gradient of 14%.
The second Iroha slope is a two-lane road for uphill climbs, and the first downhill has many hairpin-like roads and a series of sharp curves compared to the second uphill road.
