The US OPEN CUP always delivers opportunities for the player and great moments for the supporters. I like attending those matches whenever they're played in my city.
It would be good for LAFC to play in the Copa Libertadores de América, hopefully in the future it will be possible to bring teams from Mexico and the USA.
They're doing the thing where two teams from CONCACAF play against two teams from CONMEBOL, and I think that's a good start. Maybe that can be expanded, and maybe it can be used to determine which confed gets additional qualifiers to the Club World Cup. I have some hope for that, and I hope the CWC can become more successful in its own right. I don't think we need to plug North American clubs into the early group stages of the South American tournaments, though. I'd love to see a second tier North American tournament, one in which USL Championship clubs regularly participate. Early exits from the Champions Cup should go that way, too. And I'd love to see the top end clubs from South America against North America in an abbreviated standalone tournament. We don't need to get a look at every club that qualified for Copa Libertadores, though. There's about 10 or 12 clubs from the entire continent that we really care about in a given year, and those are the clubs that we should match up with on a regular basis.
@Finsteristic76 Which South American players, currently playing for major South American clubs, would cook the most? Also- not really the main point, but I'm curious- which players and clubs from South America would you be most excited to see in a meaningful game that's played in North America? Either in person or on TV.
Tim Melia was ballin’ like 2 or 3 years ago, but he ain’t that guy anymore. We need to get rid of him if we’re gonna win games in the future. He started this game strong but showed he’s not his former self anymore.
How was it offside? Bogusz was being kept on by #19. On the second pass Giroud stayed in line with the ball with a lateral/backward pass so he’s on. No offside.
