      @@EricTheHoly Appreciate the reply. I have every breather bolt-on there is to include a S364.5, so I am tuned and can flash any revision(s) needed.
      I just heard about pressure drop in the upper RPM’s. What I gathered, I’m good with the stock CP3, but most likely will go with a lift pump.
      I’m doing studs, springs, pushrods and figured throw a set of DDP’s in there while I’m at it.

    Thanks for sharing! I know you are working with what is readily available to tow, but 5K is a pretty mild load for that setup - so would expect no issues. Since many commonly tow RVs or other heavier loads, I would like to see what happens with a 10-15K load if you get an opportunity...

    It’s been a longtime since I’ve driven a truck with a pyrometer, but when I did 1,000-1,100°F was getting very hot and meant it was time to back out of it. That was on an old CAT 3406C engine pulling 62,500kg through the mountains. On the flatlands the pyrometer never got over 800-900°F. So 1,000°F pulling a boat seems a rather hot.

    • @getbent876
      @getbent876 2 роки тому

      I believe Cummins purposefully had the engine run high to meet emissions without having any kind of egr. I believe it was done by a later secondary injection a wide spray pattern.

    I have 90horse BD injectors with efi live tuning and ever since I installed the 90horse I have white smoke at start up and way to much black smoke until the turbo spools up fast enough to clear it up not sure what to do so about to install an upgraded bud turbo and see if that helps. If that doesn’t help I may try to find someone else to tune the efi instead of the original guy that done it

    Nice truck and thanks for the share. I do have to ask why you are redlining your engine at every shift? 3,200 is redline on the factory Cummins. I have the G56 5.9 2006 HO and usually shift below 2,200. There is just not normally a reason to go much higher unless you have an extreme load on a climb. Here in Colorado, we have a few good climbs up to 11,000+ feet. Enjoy and again, thanks for the share.

    I have a 6 speed manual and I’ve never ever turn over 25 and 90% of the time is at 2000 old retired car hauler and a old diesel mechanic told me there are two things that destroy a diesel and that is RPM and heat so there is no reason to turn that many rpm unless you are towing 40k.

    Great video brother! Are you running 37's and 342 axle ratio? My 4th gen is pretty much the same setup as yours and I'm debating on the BD injectors and screamer turbo but i may just re-gear the truck to 410's. I tow my junk from the coast of BC to Alberta all the time, ranging from 8000lbs to 10,000lbs. usually always sitting around 1000-1100 in 6th cruising on flatground doing 110-115. Up the Smasher it's a 10% grade for many kms. 4th gear and the hottest I've seen is 1450. cools down quick but still, feels like a more efficient turbo would help that a lot or re-gear. We should meet up and do a comparison. Gears vs Turbo/Injectors. I could tow out my bush truck. It's pretty now. Crewcab S10 on super duty diffs with 40's and coilovers, estimated 6000lbs plus my 2000lbs trailer.
