- Celebrating the release of 'Vortex' by the Swiss band Sonar with US guitarist David Torn on March 30, 2018 (RareNoiseRecords)
This "live in the studio" mix (no overdubs, no post-production except reverb) gives an intimate view into the studio atmosphere during the recording of this album in February, 2017.
In case you're wondering, it's in 63/8, but it still feels like a 21st century folksong :-)

Reminds me of adam jones work in a few tool songs. I first discoverd davids music about 10 years ago when i was experimenting with loops and foudn out he's like "THE loop master"

a slow, subtly developing whole-band weave of the KING CRIMSON "Discipline" style--until David lets loose in the second half. Man, this guy can make a guitar sing and scream and wail like NOBODY else!

Actually, David's playing sounds a lot like "Bob" of The Residents (or vice versa) and he stole "Randy's" hair! Check out some of The Residents' live performances from 2010 or later. :)
