We can See people demonstrate fear, Reverence and ignorance about Death, simultaneously. Your ancestors are in a place, that you will join to, when you die. Or there is a heaven, with a hell. Or they are sleeping, waiting the Final Day. Or they are in Samsara, you will never die. Or you are a soul having a Material Experience, Or you are a body with a soul. The limits of the dreaming man never finishes, there are brilliant systems, that start since "there was nothing and...", such as buddhism,,hinduism,, sikhism, old Greece, Rome, Egypt; and on. What we cannot explain we invent, we believe; Nature will create so many coincidences, we shall feel we discovered all the Truth. Religions mesmerise people, saying them what they think is the final word. The advantage of Religion is, we can dream about the past and future, and neglect totally this Moment.
