Love the concept but honestly think this would be a lot better with a 2v2 and the chance teammates would disagree. I can just imagine the arguments with Zurx or Coconut if their teammates disagreed with them about which side to shoot on.

The bad thing is I know what he's saying because the entire time I knew which goal was the right one. Idk how to explain it but I could spawn drive forward for a moment and know exactly which goal is which. That one tho, couldn't have told ya which was which.
@@Dawesome97 Yeah i know what you mean. But that sense of orientation only works because of the lighting and the shawdows which is why it doesn't work on the last map. And i realised that right in the beginning and it made me angry, that rapid couldn't express where it was coming from 🙃
@@simonrohrbach539 it's one of those hard things to express in the moment. But I'd just call it field awareness. Not necessarily like of the game as a whole but when I spawn in on a map that is in a competitive rotation, I can almost always tell which is blue vs which is orange even if it's grayscale. And I won't lie, I don't even play comp like that
@@Dawesome97 I see you point, but Rapid couldn't 'just tell' which side he was on. He needed the first goal, and after that he was able to match the colors due to the differences in lighting (and sometimes the asymmetry of the map)
On the last map, the stripes on the ball indicate the side since there is only 3 stripes. The Ball always spawns with 1 stripe (almost directly) facing the blue goal, while the orange side has the opposing "solid" side facing it with 2 stripes visible facing the corners.

I legit was so confused throughout this video that I immediately caught a headache😂 There were times when I wanted to laugh, but I was so discombobulated by Rapid saying he knows and Leth asking how he knows and Rapid saying “just because I do” that I almost began to cry. What a wild rollercoaster of horrible emotions.

Leth was trying to find out which side is blue and which is orange from the get go. Rapid was trying to find which side was his and which was yours. That's why he needed the first goal to be scored. Then, he was counting on his sense of direction. Which sometimes would work. Sometimes it was just luck + copium 😂😂😂😂 Having him by himself trying to score several goals on the same side was the right call.
You can actually tell on the last map by the mid boosts: The boost will always have 2 "feet" facing the blue side and 1 "foot" facing the orange side.

Idk but the cities in that first map look completely different on both sides, one side had a shorter square building and the other has taller pointier skyscrapers.
@@tarantulamadness6191 I can tell instantly with all maps which is orange or blue, but only on that rocket labs one did the spawns mess with me, all the others I could tell without looking at the background, unless it was subconscious.

Rocket sledge did a video recently of a guy who can’t see any colors who plays rocket league, this is basically what he experiences every day
Just going by the shadow of the car... the shadow of the car is specifically oriented from one fixed location on the map.
it's funny how rapid was so confident, also it's hard, but you CAN tell what side is which. the blue side has a slightly darker lighting with the lines, but can only tell by looking at the middle lines that join together at kick off.

Rapid may have subconsciously picked up on the car shadows during game 1. Once a goal is scored, you should know if the shadow needs to be on your left or right when you score
The ultimate gas lighting happens between jg and coconut. 💥 and I’m all here for it
there is a camera swap in between the replay and the spawning of the players in bakkes mod (if you scored on the replay you can kinda see the camera drag over to the opposite side of the field from where you scored) that being said if you score once and its right and you spawn on the other side of the field you can see the camera drag across the field but if the camera doesnt drag then you are on the same side, pretty sure thats how rapid knew and why he "lost sight" bc its honestly really hard to see

leth can just make the arena completely black with a white ball and two starting platforms on the sides of the middle of the half of the arena and then there will be no way for anyone to find out which goal is who's. (He can even make it that the arena has no windows just darkness.
I got it! On Double Goal, the line above the goals is brighter at the orange half. But it is not easy to tell while playing, you need to carefully examine rhe goals every time to figure out which is which.

btw with the ending game with rapid trying to guess witch side is witch ik how to do it there is a little rotating half circle inside the bigger circle were the ball sits on kick off and with that you can guess witch side is witch, its hard though.

I don't know how to explain it but, I could easily tell because each side gives off a different vibe if that makes sense. As I said I can't really explain, its just something that has developed with my game sense.

You can tell by the rotation of the ball during the kickoff. There's only one dot on the blue side.
its the camera movement on the last one that gives it away
There’s the tiniest tint difference with orange being a slight bit brighter
Shoulda done this one on the dropshot map
it was the rotation of the ball. You can see if the dark grey bit it is on the right, you are facing the blue goal
I was looking at the flags in the bottom corners. Orange has 1 lighter flag. In the last map you can see blue side is a little more dull and orange is a little brighter in the light strip above the goal. Shades was the only way I could tell. Didn’t even think of the sun.
i found out how to know on the last one sov you can see if you score on lets say blue goal than if your skip and you can see a small animation where it like teleports you to the other side or maybe close sov if i teleports close to were you just scored and it was the wrong than its the goal in front of you if it maked sens

I CAN ACTUALLY SEE THE DIFFERENCE ON THE LAST MAP NOW
You can only notice, by looking at the middle, there will be SUCH a slight colour difference in tone,
the darker colour = blue
the lighter colour = Orange
There was a way to tell if you pay enough attention your car moves from your last point to the spawn. So really rapid was right but very wrong at the same time
on the first map you can tell where youre at by the lighting, i cant really explain it its easier if you see it too lmao
It randomizes the spawn only on entry to the map by the looks of it. So after the first goal you can get to know if you have to score normally or own goal. And you just have to remember which side is which when playing/tracking the ball.
Orrrrr nvm it was just a 50/50 and they spawned without changing sides by luck

ngl I am with rapid on the first game I somehow knew which goal is which but it only works on urban central for me don't know why or how but it's just clear everytime. Although for the rest of the maps I can see the difference based on the layout outside of the field. And it didn't work on the double goals map because it's not a map that everyone plays on and theres no design
For The first map the monorail that goes over the field heads from blue to orange every time
I play in greyscale sometimes and it's uncanny how i can just tell which side is which just from where i'm spawning
You can tell by the slight color chang because the blue side is darker than the orange side. Look closely ok u can tell. :)
It was easy to tell on urban central because the blue and orange sides are different shades of grey you could tell which side was blue because it was darker

You can tell where you are by the replay camera roll on your car after you score.

On the last one if you see where you scored on the replay and see where you respawn in reference to where you scored then you can tell which side you are on and need to score on
I think however you can only tell if you are in spectator mode with this method
