I created a great product last year and I usually only make about $150-250 per week. I did my first $1,000 in one week last month (mainly because someone placed a really large order). So I’d like to consistently make at least $5,000 every month as my next goal.
I made my first 10,000.00 and I bought land with it. Now, I need to develop that land, and I am almost broke.
Go back to how you got the first $10,000 and try to do that again, while pausing development on the land until you're head above water.

Arlan! I’m glad to see you on my feed again. It’s been a rough ride since I moved to Canada in 2014, and about a year ago, I lost hope. I’ve been living moment to moment, trying to get my flow back, but I’ve pretty much given up in many ways. However, I still keep going, as best I can. I reckon there are no coincidences, because just yesterday I got a phone call out of the blue for a gig for $500 for about an hour of time. Then you popped up.
You are my ounce of hope, old friend. I am glad you are well. Perhaps you showing up, the person the yesterday, are the universe saying, “hang in there. The tides are turning.” I always thought you were on point, and it’s so lovely to see how far you’ve come. I just turned 40 last November and you’re definitely speaking my language. Always have, though.

First off, Thank You! for all that you are doing in educating us as African Americans in how to build wealth. My question is how can I go about building wealth in my career? I'm a Audio Visual Technician, I work for myself and I'm contracted for different places like churches, theatre, and Schools. Right now I'm in the process of creating online courses to sell on Teachable which I got that idea from listening to your videos. I'll be teaching about audio stuff related. My goal is to do things on a bigger scale far as helping the black community such as You for an example in conference events, meaning being able to take care of the production side of thing making sure the audio/visual tech side of thing are good cause theirs a lot technical things that goes wrong with those types of events. If you have any one that can point me in the right direction on getting my foot in the door or giving me some pointers on how to build wealth in my field that would great.

Thank God it was model in my home. Mom was just good with money. As a teenager, she sent me to the bank, it was always to deposit. I learned from that. I was 19 years old when I opened my first account. When people around you know that you are a person who saves, they might have degrees and better paying job than You (me), they still want your money to borrow. A few had no intentions of paying it back, and did not. God has blessed me anyway.

Hi Arlan! Do you recommend paying down debt before making your first $1000? I am currently paying down all of my personal debt so that I can start from scratch.
I don't think you can pay back ALL of your debt before you make your first $1,000...and making your first $1,000 will help you pay down debt:) So I think you do a bit of both at the same time. Those two books I recommended in the vid will help immensely.

Quick question.
What should I do if I have vision and am a builder? I'm a complete push over when it comes to the sales part which is why I probably haven't made hundreds and hundreds of thousands because I want people to succeed in their business so much that mine's takes a monetary hit. In fact, I have more fun at the thinking and doing part. The selling part actually makes me hyperventilate. The funny (not so funny) thing is that some of my clients know this about me and they end up doubling what I offer. They can see and appreciate the value that I am giving even though I am not confident with the sales part.
This is what I wrote to my mailing list recently: Let me know if this resonates:
You are a really good person, and have been through some things.
You've learned a lot along the way, but are not yet where you want to be financially.
Your ambition and skills don't seem to match your bank account.
If I had to guess, this is mainly because you have a “give first” personality, and sometimes you don't price your offer (your salary, service, product, etc) high enough, and don't ask enough people to give you money in exchange for your skills and experience. You could also be asking enough people, but not enough of the people who can afford you.
You want to serve others, and not “overcharge” them, because they need your help the most.
The problem with this is that it'll never be sustainable. In other words, if you don't charge appropriately, you won't make enough income to have the infrastructure, time, and energy to serve the very people you're trying not to disappoint.
So not only do you not have what you need, but those you want to serve won't either. No one wins in this scenario.
I know this may have rocked your world a little bit. I've invested in more than 200 companies and worked with thousands of entrepreneurs, and when I tell them this, the accuracy can be quite jolting. But don't fear! There's a way you can start recalibrating TODAY.
You need two things: 1) an appropriately priced offer and 2) a way to get more people and the right people--to see your offer on a daily basis.
You may have 1 and not the other, or you may be missing both. Either way, having both will change everything for you. You'll generate more income, therefore having more time, energy, and creativity to deliver to your paying customers. And the coolest part is that you can use your “free time” to do whatever you'd like, including serving those who cannot afford your regular prices.
