One thing the U.S. Navy taught me good is if U can survive the Island it's hosts broads snakes lizards insects quick sand water and boiling heat U deserved a Navy cross just 4 getting off the boat..
Way back then when I was in the Navy sailors had one hell of time getting the screen doors closed before a dive. The only pool was stinky sea water the cabin stewards were rude and smelled like a peeled onions. Don't get me wrong the food was Ok and the plates were almost always guaranteed to be brand new but the water coffee & beverages all tasted like raw pee... sleeping with occupants was impossible they all snored so loud they made the hull creek at night and the Capins n them boats usually all hid in their rooms petting their pet sharks on their laps. Only nobody ever got to the shark,,,
Let me be generous. The bulk of these stories remain faithful to truth. Approximately better than 90% true - there were some aspects of this that remained unrevealed for 30 years. In the 30 year ruling in Britain. Any occurrence in the second world war - was covered up until well into the early 1980's - this is the case of these stories as well! Though it could only be told in this way!
how is this concidered a war movie? All it is bunch of talking...no action. Just because the wear uniforms does not mack a war movie. No fighting just drunks dancing and singing. for you Corination Street lovers have fun.
We loved this show in the late 50’s. Glad the series is available on UA-cam 👍

this show caused me to avoid homework. Should have done my homework because I dont actually remember the story line of the videos
I have only one word. Incredible.
As we said in the Navy......... Well done.
How much is true and how much was fictionalized to make it more exciting?
Many of the incredible actions are true without having to make them more exciting.

Where does a submarine store a wooden rowboat?
Under the deck; inside the superstructure, but outside the pressure hull. Strapped in nice & tight so it doesn't rattle around while underway.
