How it is hackproof? can anyone explain? because I like this concept of Internet Computer and that box where one can store running software and there is no backdoor access etc.
basicly because internet computer involves something called cryptography witch is the fundemantel form of storing data on internet computer, cryptography is a form of storing data that is impossible to manipulate because its encrypted in something called a chain, for example a block chain which essentially is a data base where the blocks only can be available through mining, so the chain cant be manipulated as that is the core of its purpose. but i think i am just an idiot, so dont listen to me
At the moment I cannot imagine how data can be safely stored in the "computer", the app has access but nobody else? Like it is describe for the dating app (min 16:40...) in the video. If this really works that would be amazing, but can somebody please explain how? I mean: If code can decrypt private database how can somebody else be prevented to use the the code to decrypt the private database by himself?
I am hedging on the side that its not as fool proof as they want it to be yet. That is my personal opinion. I dont have too much hope for this project until they start clarifying several of these controversys.
Test it out yourself, the code is encrypted and run asynchronously between nodes. Even if a captured data center was snapshot, you'd have to decrypt everything, which would be gobbledygook without the other nodes cooperating too
I am new to this, but ICP tokens get burnt as CPU cycles, right? Since its value is backed by a real physical thing (just like the USD gold standard of decades past), I would epect its trading prices to be stable in the long run. Very excited for this technology!
Icp, why wasn’t listed years back to the cmc, something is fishy.. seems like rich ppl were scooping ICP super cheap before public offer, then out of nowhere this pop up? So the poor ppl (us) pump for the rich or fortunate early buyer? Doesn’t sound fair to me...
Note how he refers to poor people and then in parentheses says "us" thats not something a poor person would say. They may say average person, retail investor, etc but its all the same thing. Theyre trying to create an us vs. Them dichotomy. They're trying to kill this before it gets started.
@@boomerz2478 So I did Google this before posting my comment to make sure I get the correct expression. From google: "Leading edge in this sense, means cutting edge. It refers to the most highly sophisticated development in a field. ... Bleeding edge: A pun on "leading edge." It implies that using the latest technology is often risky because it has not been tested with enough users and may not perform as expected." I did not want to convey risk, so I used leading edge and not bleeding edge.
It’s like comparing the car to the horse lmao. I’ll spoonfeed you one. A NFT on etherium is a hyperlink to the cloud company the jpeg is hosted on. On icp the NFT is fully hosted on the blockchain
A large number of ICPs were sold by early VCs and ICOs, causing prices to fall all the way. Because the price of early ICOs was only $0.4, this is the biggest Ponzi scheme in 2021. Everyone who purchases ICP will suffer heavy losses. The $750 free fall is $40, and 1500% of the value is vaporized!
Did you buy in 700? hahaha poor deluded, you have to see the fundamentals, the capitalization of the project and obviously that something just came out with 40 billion in capitalization is something to worry about. It's not Dfinity's problem that there are a lot of investors who bought.
Guys check out The Web3 Project. It's soon to have a DAO with 400,000% APY with 3 second compounded interest, dual-rebasing, a play-to-earn ecosytem, NFTs, soon to be gaming studio, free launchpad like PinkSale, nodes, mining, a stablecoin and wrapped web3 staking. Truely one of a kind project. 🔥🔥🔥
I like this project, but Dom needs to have a sit-down with Cedric on how to be camera friendly. All of the ums and ahms + pauses really aren't very audience friendly. If you want to be an evangelist for the internet computer, please refine your public speaking skills.
Every dev knows decentralized apps have overhead. I cannot imagine anyone with the right mind moving project that works well on GCloud/Azure/AWS/on-premise to some soup of nodes that does not guarantee performance characteristics. Moreover in "traditional" clouds I can choose to pay extra $ for backup, failover, additonal firewalls - this is real value. Not just some "upload" button that helps me publish trash.

Big enemies you have, but the idea is promising
bought 1000 ICP tokens for 34 dollars, I hope you will create wonders in 5 years, I am with you :)
bought in at 75 dollars now shitting my self
Bro in the future you Will be wealthy , PATIENCE, btw i loaded at 16$ , again PATIENCE,this is a long term game
bought at 6 dollars staked for 8 years i am predicting icp at 5k in 2030
You already rich the price went to 700

@@Ryan-xq3kl you are making your lack of understanding a "controversy". There is no controversy.

Yes
How do we have to pay to get a new spokesperson?
Nice. Thanks for the comprehensive info. I look forward to seeing how this evolves.
Was this able to buy before the the public offering?!
Any updates about this project?
The Dfinity tokens are called ICP (Internet Computer) and will be listed sometime in May of this year.

They bought at a much earlier stage with more risk, it’s how these things work

This will be successful
Sure, but no proof of _full_ Asynchronous Byzantine Fault Tolerant (aBFT), i.e., against DDOS.

Wait for the price to stabilize to start buying.
Same thing with ethereum, look at something other than price.
