Completely agree. Phase two turns an otherwise cool and fun boss into an absolute shitshow. It sucks because I love cosmic horror and Metyrs design might be one of the coolest I've ever seen. I'm just gonna pray this fight gets properly tuned out in a future patch
The fact that From Soft used the actual sound of a black hole recorded by NASA as soundtrack for second phase is just bonkers. It also shows that once she dies she isn't really dead much like a throwback to Bloodborne bosses. She just goes back to Greater Will through that Black hole that opens up. All in all a really intriguing boss design and Lore. This and Midra easily top the bosses in DLC for the Lore reasons.
i thought i was losing my mind because i was talking about how stupid the laser attack was online and this dude kept telling me it was a skill issue because there was a safe spot between the laser and the boss and i kept getting hit everytime, either by the laser or the aoe around it. turns out it was just bs.
Thanks! Honestly I'm just enjoying showcasing different DLC weapons for these fights. For the first two I used the same weapon, but since then my goal has been to use a new one for each boss.
Great question! At 01:16 he did the move where he summons a couple of finger creepers. Normally, they aren't affected by his laser, so my plan was to use waves of gold--the ash of war on the greatsword--to nuke them. For whatever reason, however, this time they seem to have disappeared, so I didn't need to use it.
the best of this fight by far is the end, that black hole when Metyr dies is super cool, it looks like an attack I always dodge it lol

Nice to see Thor's hammer get used.
A study in missed opportunity indeed. What were they thinking?
completely bewildering
This dlc was rushed as fuck if you couldn’t tell
Still a pretty good boss on its own though when you're not doing a challenge run. It's just the quasar attack that is BS.

Im really bummed out you cant dodge the laser attack normally, but i still really enjoy this boss
So impressed by how often you change your weapons. What goes into your “theory crafting” for your no hits?

Why did you switch to the greatsword after the first hit of the big laser?

I guess this means you couldn't figure out how to dodge the big laser either? Just had to out DPS it a pray
Yeah as far as I know there's no way. I mean if Ongbal can't do it, there's no hope for me lol
FromSoft really outdid themselves with upsetting looking bosses with this one, didn't they
There is one boss in particular that I hope you come across, it’s very hidden
