That tail swipe is something else, eh? it's a good thing this monster has some large tells/big delays because being as well armored as it is, there's not a lot of leeway in where it can be hit to damage effectively.
Yeah, it's crazy how it does so much damage but hardly affects your character lol I'd expect it to fling us back or something, but you can attack through it with some weapons.

I don't know enough about the other weapons to give an informed answer, but as far as I can tell, I guess something like this: S: Hammer, HBG A: LBG, GS, LS B: DS, Lance, GL C: HH, Bow, SNS I'm sure it really depends on what monster you're going up against as well. It'd be cool to know what my viewers think as well, again, some of my placings could be way off because I just don't know about how the weapon can perform. Also, this is by no means my way of ranking the general/overall effectiveness of the weapons, just how well I think they might perform at the highest end of skill and luck. So, basically, speedrunning. I don't know of any speedrunning leaderboards online for MHFU unfortunately, can't seem to find it, so. All weapons are effective, though some are more favorable for some match ups than others, definitely.
Weapon tier usually more like compatibility with monster you hunt, in this case melee weapon for basarios is lance or gun lance since you can aim for chest easily. Hammer usually compatible with monster with big head like rathalos, daora, teo, kutku, garuga.
Sometimes I hate them wen i just attack him his rocky skin it's making me mad and uncomfortable when I defeat that in the first time I've gone crazy well I should be thanks to you that you gave me an tutorial to defeat the basarios 😏😏😃😃

Doesn't matter wich weapon you use, every Monster can be defeated with every weapon that you've mastered
