Brilliant song. Bucks Fizz went from winning Eurovision to becoming a very successful 80's pop group with a string a top quality hits. I loved them then and still love them now.
Jeez, I totally forgot how many brilliant songs Buck’s Fizz had! So glad I grew up with u guys, and all these years later, I’m still listening to these songs! Love it ! X
In my country, El Salvador 🇸🇻, they were very popular from the beginning! They were in the hit list those years. I was a little kid when I first heard of them, 40 years later I still listening to them.
I am 51 today unfortunately. I remember them winning Eurovision in 1981 and have followed them ever since. I used to extol their merits to anyone who would listen in the 1990s but even then they were seen as old hat. Their music has has the last laugh and has truly stood the test of time.
I love the inventive intros of their songs. Not just the singles, album tracks too. This, Land of Make Believe, Are You Ready, Breaking and Entering, My Camera Never Lies, What Am I Gonna Do, If You Can’t Stand The Heat, Run For Your Life, London Town, When The Love Has Gone, 10,9,8,7,6,5,4, Cold War, Rules of the Game, You & Your Heart So Blue, for example.
I bought the single version in Germany in 1981, i played it more than 20 times in a row. :-)What a great song, olthough i didnt understand the lyrics at that time. Greetings
Looking back Bucks Fizz had some catchy tunes back in the 80's... I heard this tune for the first time in November 2018 since it came out in the 80's and can just about recall it playing back then on the radio.. And it brought back such sad memories of how the music industry, and time has changed for the worse!!! Back then it all about innocent fun.. Now, when you step outside your front door to go to work, Uni or school....etc, you don't even know if you'll make it back in one piece with how this world is going...
J Boi spot on. Few years old and superseded by events now, but there was a Bucks Fizz story biopic dvd released, and on there their record company guy says they were a shot in the arm for the British music industry at the time. Much simpler times, innocent and carefree. Now those days are gone indeed.
Lo mismo yo, brother. Recuerdo que mis hermanas escuchaban esta música en Radio Femenina y La Monumental, a principios de los 80’s. Luego después yo la seguía escuchando en Radio Láser. Saludos.
Bucks Fizz has always been one of my favourite groups. Catchy tracks and brill performers. I worked with Cheryl when I worked at Tyne Tees Television. She co presented a Tyne Tees childrens show called 'How Dare You' and she was totally natural. The group were invited to appear on the show alongside Cheryl and they were brill too. It was the same day they were involved in a bus crash, on their way back from a performance, at the Newcastle City Hall.
davidrover62 I remember the I Hear Talk vid being shown, but not the group appearing on the show themselves, maybe that segment was edited out, due to the coach crash. Did they take part in the silly messy games? I remember the preview in Look In said Bucks Fizz get more than they bargained for!
Jay Aston is soooooo beautiful and so so talented,my eyes automatically follow her on any bucks video, jay still looks as gorgeous now as she did in 1981 !!!!
I like jay as a person but find Cheryl too cosy I never fancied them or the blokes until I was 14 I fancied bobby as he looked like Paul McCartney in my eyes I also fancied Paul McCartney yep also I fancied matt Smith as dr who yep I am odd!🤣
Forget your S club 7s, steps 🤦and hearsay, Bucks fizz were flying the flag for mixed groups like ABBA and writing their own stuff or having input, made sure they got a good end of the deal and wasn't solely reliant on one member being the main singer, each one stood out in their own way and made the group great.
oh how i love bucks fizz and i didnt realise at the time but like making your mind up and piece of the action are saucy/cheeky the lyrics there songs are so catchy even today and they did very well you had Abba also Celine Dion i must admit i get so nostalgic particulary the 1980s as i was growing up as a teenager
Happy Very Special Anniversary of their professional Career in making the difference for the global music production that brings the key of being the best musical singers in the world of royalty. Ultimate Legendary Edition. 1981 -2021 What they done over the year is totally amazing for the world to shine up the gear of insperational genearations which is confident enough for them to be in charge of their loyalty of trust. What a amazing celbration of their perfect career in the land of fanasty. These singers are the top mostdecent bands in the musical history of Europrofession of Royal Musical Arts.
This would make am awesome 1st dance at a Wedding!!! Ah the 🇬🇧 Abba......fun and uplifting track it's not trying to be anything else and gotta ❤ it for that
Cheryl Baker was the girl for me (in my dreams). She played a significant role during my youth. I came of age with her help and loved every moment we spent together in my fantasies.
According to my Mum, I fancied Toyah Wilcox (and Barbara Dickson) as a young child. I have no memory of fancying either of these, but I knew that I was captivated by Cheryl at that age.
This is the first time I saw the video never saw it on the top of the pops shows on BBC four repeats unless it was a edition presented by Dave lee Travis and jimmy Seville. And the beginning reminded me of 10cc I'm Mandy fly me.
Fun vid. Bobby’s Bobby Crush segment at the piano with them encased in a heart during the near accapella bit before the drums kick in again is the cringiest part lol. Love how Cheryl faffs with her hair then it’s all over the place when she’s leaping up and down as Mike arrives.
When the Fizz (Mike, Cheryl, Jay and Bobby McVay) perform it live now, Mike usually inserts a noise or exclamation just before the second verse, such as quack quack! which most of the time cracks Cheryl up and she corpses for the rest of the song!
Brilliant song.
Bucks Fizz went from winning Eurovision to becoming a very successful 80's pop group with a string a top quality hits.
I loved them then and still love them now.
Why can't anyone make songs like this anymore. Sounds great even in 2020 lock down
I agree
How about steps
@@charles5596 Steps are as wet as a 90 year old's bed clothes
2024 you mean
In my time machine I would set it to 1980 have 10 years and repeat for eternity.
well that would get boring pretty fast
id set it to 20 years cuz the 90’s were rad too
@@coreforce9872 nah that would get boring after a bit
I’d set it for 30 years and start it at 1970 because the 70s were pretty rad too

classic 80s magic. Never tire of Bucks Fizz (or The Fizz - they are now).
great pop song from a very good group, people forget they had a lot of good quality singles in the 80s
This is from the 80s?
Why did I think that this song was from the 70s?
It’s early 80s, so the 70s look is still a bit there. Great song. Didn’t have great chart success but plenty of airplay and memorable.
I'm 42 and grew up very confused, I still fancy all of them 😕 😂😃
Mike was a dish
Bobby G for me, then Cheryl

Another class song from bucks fizz ❤
Only discovered Bucks Fizz last year, 24 years of age, I love them! What a band!
Good for you Poppy! Currently touring the UK :-)
I remember growing up listening to there stuff. iam 42 now!
Nice one, Poppy.
Lots of people your age feel the same when they come across bands from the 70s and 80s. Great discoveries! Well done.

Always one of their best imo!

I was fascinated by this song as a child. This is the first time I have seen the actual video instead of a live performance, it's fab.
13 and yet I think this is way better than anything else today! This is sooo awesome! Love them so much! 💖❤️
What a great pop group catchy songs and dancing love it inc making your mind up and camera never lies
This is a perfect pop song.
Why on earth would anyone thumbs down this ? !
Pure joy 😃
Nice band with catchy songs , mike was a real pretty boy back in the 80s
Another guilty favourite of mine. Hope my mrs doesn’t spot this post or I will get some right stick. Sorry love but this is bloody good!
Ha ha mine too
Why guilty?❤ax
Still stands the test of time...catchy as fcuk....this and 'don't stop' are two of my fave Fizz tunes!!!
Heard this recently when Paul Gambaccini played it on Radio 2's Pick of the Pops. A class song & great teenage memories of 1981.
Great group - Totally under rated - They're one the best groups of all time.
hahahaha

Catchy song, but oh dear that choreography is dire!! Like something you'd do in a primary school musical!!! Loving the outfits though!
It was the 80s..stil better than Cardi b
If you watch recent gig performances, Jay doesn’t seem very enthusiastic sometimes doing the hand clapping bit in the chorus!
