Watched this twice, went out, busted out 2 duck gybes in a row. Your tip about initiating early was my “missing link”. Excellent instructional video!! Thanks!! 🤙
Glad I could help! For many people that is the only mistake and yet it takes so long to figure out... probably because we are so used to the normal gybe! Have fun perfecting it :D
Hey man! Good to hear from you! I did want to add more water action but I accidentally deleted all my duck jibe content so this is what we are left with! The clip in the end is a POV of a duck gybe and the last clip a mast mount so you can see different aspects there. The duck gybe is not really trainable properly when not planing so I dont have any of that footage for that reason! I am sure you can find some duck gybes on my instagram :D Next time I will put more water action :)
Thank you Rob!Ii am glad you like them! The duck gybe as I am doing it here is a planing move simply because for the rotation of the sail to feel smooth you need to be moving at a certain speed around the corner. If you do want to try them non-planing then I would recommend going slightly downwind and rotating the sail first and then going into a normal non-planing gybe. So its more like a sail 180 into a gybe, so to speak! :)
I guess im asking the wrong place but does someone know of a trick to log back into an instagram account..? I stupidly forgot my account password. I love any help you can offer me!
