I am only rated 1800, but this video honestly hasn't changed my mind about the king's gambit. The king's gambit feels like actually sharp chess, where each move requires sharp tactical thought, and it's because of moves like bishop E2 for example, where your opponent has to really look out for serious threats and if they don't know the theory it's a rude awakening. No, I will never get any serious title from it, and no it isn't optimal, but where's the fun in optimal y'know? Great video my man. Keep it up.
Amateur Club Player, youtube educator by day here - enjoying the videos, keep it up! I played a tournament game as white in this line that began 1. e4 e5 2. f4 Nc6 3. Nf3 f5 4. exf5 e4 5. Ne5 nf6 (Qh4-qe4+ idea is prevented by blacks own pawn on e4 I reasoned) 6. Be2 h5 (And here I too failed to find (6. nc3) and played Be2 with ideas from the cunningham defense in mind, which i suppose is still ok but as you show, they can make luft with the bc5, kf8, and whites nf7 doesn't actually work so white should just follow up with nc3 anyway, however my opponent returned the inaccuracy with h5 which is also thematic. Goes to show how critical and easy to mix up ideas in the KG can get. 7. Ng6 Rh7 8. Nxf8 Kxf8 . .. and i went on to win after much somewhat unrelated adventures.
So i've been playing h5 after accepting the gambit and their natural 3.Nf3, with quite a high win%. What do you think of it? Like your stuff, anyway, keep it up!

I had no idea how to finish the Augustus line. 😂
This is the vienna jn reverse, call it the rosseau gambit, plays well against the italian game. Ty for sharing
You're welcome

Do you mean g5 to defend f4? Yes that can also work but there some extremely dangerous gambits out there like the Muzio where white sacs the f3-knight
I newer saw this
@@MislavIvkovic-sx8vd well now you know 👍
