You always make me think, Bonita. The biggest mistake I have ever made was to marry someone who thought I was the lucky one, an attitude I perpetuated for decades because I didn't "know my worth." This might not the kind of example you're looking for, but when I think back on my life, so many of the foolish financial (and otherwise) decisions I have made were driven by a very poor choice I made too early in my life to understand what I was doing. I have since corrected that mistake. I am now married to a man who understands what I bring to our relationship. "Know your worth." When you do, you won't waste your time or money on material things that simply don't matter.

Bless your heart. I can't tell you how many times I thought I put something where I left it and then I come back and only half of the thing is there or it's not there at all. I was behind a truck yesterday it was a landscaping truck pulling a flatbed that had a piece of equipment on it and as it was bouncing along I noticed something caught my eye on the Hub of the tire area there was a bottle of water. In their haste probably to load their equipment back up somebody set their bottle of water down there it looked like it was full to the top I just watched it and waited and as they turned the corner the bottle went flying I had to laugh cuz I thought how many times do we think we have everything we need or we get distracted and realize that we don't. It happens to everyone.

My son was visiting this Sunday evening. We went to Quick Trip to put more air in his car tires. He sat his cell phone on the street next to the curb by the air pump. Well, of course he left the phone on the street.
On our way back to Quick Trip, I was doing a lot of praying that someone wouldn't take the phone or drive over it. As with you, some nice soul saw the phone and the kind clerk at Quick Trip gave it back to my son. Prayers work!

I went to a Grocery Outlet (that's its true name) store once when we lived in Oregon and the meat was so cheap, I couldn't resist buying some. Well, when I brought it home and cooked it, it was some of the fattiest, worst tasting meat we'd ever eaten. We couldn't finish it, it was so gross. That completely turned me off from shopping at that store ever again and then we found Winco and never looked back!

Back several years ago my mother-in-law raved to me about Skechers tennis shoes. I bought a couple of pairs over the years and I have to say they have been the worst thing on my feet. I've even put arch support in them and it does not help. I still have them I still wear them and I keep saying to myself you need to spend the money and get yourself a decent pair of shoes I have problems with both of my feet and it is ridiculous that I still wear these. And the bonus about it is that in wet weather my feet gets soaked so I'm not too bright when it comes to these kind of things and it takes me forever to spend money but I need to do it to get better shoes. LOL

@@PenniestoDollars The thing about flip flops in Texas is they get almost year round wear. I can't bear the ones that goes between my toes so I use slides. Never wear your good flip flops on hot asphalt in August in Texas. You will need a lift out of that position after a few steps. 😂😂

I have definitely made many mistakes over the years in buying things and they ended up being a rip-off or like you said your Dollar Tree experience. And as best as I can I try to use up the mistakes that I've made. Because it's still money that you spent and it hurts worse to toss it in the trash then even the error of buying something that was not what it was supposed to be.

We always got a pair of flip flops when we went to the beach and we’re only allowed to wear them there. Last weekend, we got new front tires and we’re having the old front tires rotated to replace the older back tires. That didn’t happen…they kept old tires on back and discarded front tires because they were lazy and it saved them time, even though we got charged for tire rotation. Well, we had taken pictures prior that showed the numbers and can prove it this wasn’t done. They are now scrambling to find the tires, they were suppose to switch out. We have told them that we would be happy with new replacement tires at no cost to us if they can’t find our original ones. If not we will report them to (Canada) consumer protection agency, the better business bureau and will file in small claims court. We will be finding somewhere else to take our business.

I am so sorry that happened. I had a similar experience with a water pump that was not bad and I told them not to change it out because it was a computer error on the car. They changed it out anyway and I still had the same computer error. I had to report them as well, and they took off the charge for the water pump.

All flip flops are bad for your feet. They cause your toes to unnaturally grip, arch support or not, and you'll end up with hammer toes and worse 😬
