club 6400, numbers, red square, power tools, lizard lounge, Yucatan liquor stand, bayou mama's clutch city Houston rockets 94-95 HOUSTON TEXAS LATE 80'S EARLY 90'S BEST.TIME.EVER!
I was in New Orleans. Some of this would bleed over. I'd first hear it at the Kingfish then the Blue Crystal or house parties. I loved the fact I could drive four hours west and the music was so different. The same going east. All this great proto rave house, techno, breaks, synthpop, electro......................we where experiencing something really special. The impact all this had on American rave culture is very under appreciated.
I'll second this. Especially since in person the music was pretty watered down, mostly so they could broadcast it live on 93Q. Appreciate op cut out all the pop-y stuff & left in the better tunes. This is actually leaning more towards Xcess & the afterhours spins at Club Some, Therapy, etc.
I third this! Im sittingbin my garage beach house about a mile across the water from a club I used to hear this in 1988-89.. First up in Houston at NRGs, Luzard Lounge Powertools, Sharkdance! Clear Lake , TXHouston,TX by Nasa! Hous
I remember the scene back in the day and it was pure electricity up and down the Richmond. Lived parts of my life in and out Xcess, 6400, Detour, DV8, Aftermath, Lizard Lounge!!! I know you were at these places cause you are the spin master! The muze lives on. Thanks DJF.
Thank you so much what incredible transaction from on record to the next . All this takes me back to a amazing. Place and time . Always puts me in a great mood and energy so positive . At home or in my car I wish my volume went louder lol . Please don’t stop what you are doing also what a incredible record collection 👏👏😎😎😎
Jammin out to this and dancin my ass off on New Years Eve love your stuff and just wish there was a club that still turned it out like this you're the best
You bet. There's a longer one for you. Man I had to make this 3 times due to copyright and even this mix is under dispute due to Certain Things are Likely, which i may have to delete. I've played that song for 4 years and all of the sudden they say I can't play it. Every time I try and make a long mix they choose a song at random to strike as copyright. Anyway, enjoy..it's a good one!
@@djflax8806 what happened to your dispute with certain things are likely? I really want to use that song for a baseball video for some H-town pride! Go 'stros! #club6400richmondave
@@djflax8806 thank you for the reply I'll try to let you know when I put up the baseball video I'm really thinking about using that song. I have a second question how do you cultivate this perfect taste in the 80s and 90s music? did you have some access to the record library at club 6400?
Legit! Thanks for taking out the usual 6400 fluff & just spinning the better tunes. One complaint tho..why not the orig Male Stripper from Man 2 Man Meet Man Parrish?? Absolute banger & rarely heard back in the day...not sure I ever actually heard it at 6400. This version was '92 I believe. Club was ashes long before that! ;) Keep up these mixes, they are killer!!
