always wondered how these guys managed to play and move like that...they moved around more than just about any one else

If i'm not mistaken, anthrax's singer joey belladonna said in an interview that, during their 85 tour, blackie only mimicked playing bass, as a roadie really played it backstage - that could be an explanation. Moreover, let's face it, wasp, especially during the 80s, weren't exactly the best sounding live band, as far as precision, clearness, polishing were concerned - maybe they could have improved that side of their playing but, as their initial success was mainly due to their image and stage antics, they felt it wasn't needed. In a way, they copied kiss' attitude and moves on stage, something which I have never appreciated, even though I'm a fan.

@@cornocrudeli5289 It doesn't look like Chris is playing on this one either? he is mostly just runing around and grabbing the neck of his guitar

@@hellchild6668 I can play a decent part of WASP 80's catalog, Chris is one of my favorite guitar players. The reason you thing that is cause everything he plays is on that position of the neck. There are a lot of power chords that sound similar to the basic cords and with power chords you move more up and down the guitar neck. Take for example "I don't need no doctor", that song is 90% played at the top of the guitar neck. Also it helps to have big hands and long fingers like Chris, he is a 6.5/6 giant after all so he can reach strings with ease on the neck. All in all, Chris is just a badass guitar player with explosive energy on stage.

@@johnnsty Correct, I've only been practicing guitar for a few months, but I tried to learn some WASP riffs a few days ago, and I couldn't figure out what I was doing wrong because my hand hurt trying to get it on the right frets, until I realized Chris is a goliath of a man, I don't know if I'm ever even going to be able to play some of this stuff with my hands, but I'll try.

@@R.Lennartz practice practice practice.. I still play for fun but it could be better if I was more active with my guitar. I had the same problem when I first started to play but few years later I am able to play along with entire WASP Live... in the Raw album. Still have difficulties with Blind in Texas tho, for some reason I just mess it up but other songs they are living in my fingers, basically. The highlight for me was the fact that I learned to play The Manimal by ear, since there are no tabs online. And that song too is played 70% of it at the top of the guitar neck. I'm still stuck with a Squire SSH bullet strat but as we speak I am looking to buy Jackson Gus G star, the yellow one. Just like Chris and his 'yellow shit' guitar. I really admire Chris, he was the sole reason why I got into WASP. That sound, aggression, style.. when I see live footage of him I'm reminded of how he made playing the guitar look like lots of fun!
