I have a question. If 990+ Custodes were sent to Prospero & 200-300+ died, and this happens after Magnus broke the webway. Then we also know Custodes were spread out across the universe like the Word Bearers had Custodes and the battle of Gathalamor mentioned in this video had another 100 Custodes and 50 ish died. that right there leaves less than 9,000 Custodes to be present in the Webway War. Now I know the War in the Webway took years and its possible the survivers of such battles mentioned made it back to Terra and the Webway, but Custodes also participated in the Siege of Terra and went on to Horus's ship and with only 10,000 Custodes being active at a time, are we to assume that they were able to replenish numbers at a significant rate to actually have a substantial force in the webway to even lose 9,000+ Custodes. I just feel that the numbers don't add up when you take in account there is only 10,000 and they can be everywhere at once and if 9,000+ died in the Webway alone plus these other zones and having somewhat spread out forces but the majority in the Webway then they had to be replenishing their numbers. But I thought they were really hard to create and or mass produce so how did the Emperor and Imperium replenish their numbers to keep up with the rate of attrition or at least minimize its effect. Also if they were replenishing and say made 2,000 more during the Horus Heresy and still lost all the ones in each zone and 9,000+ in the webway, then how many were left at the end. Hundreds or with a few thousands replaced during the Horus Heresy then maybe a 100-2,000 ??? idk what the figures are. How long then from whatever number was left did it take them to reach 10,000 strong again? and how did they create and replace them without much help from the Emperor at this point being on the verge of death and alive only due to the Golden Throne? Someone make sense of it for me, Thanks!
Simple answer for why the numbers don't match up, the lore is inconsistent due to there being multiple writers for it. That and the Custodians know how to make more of their kind which is how they were able to make more, the reason why they don't just mass produce them is because of the fact that it is super hard, super costly, and super time consuming to create just one Custodian.
@@thebonkgoblin5200 I like to think they are like the Persian Immortals but better trained and genetically better 10x, what I mean is that they only have 10k Cutodes active everytime if one is lost they can replace it with another so prob why they got 10k after losing 9k I mean think about it I think it would have been possible for the emperor to make more than 10k Custodes there's prob reserved custodes ready to replace fallen ones though that doesn't mean their infinite each loss of custodes is a huge setback because they are as you say expensive and lengthy

From my understanding at least, it would be the other Custodians who create more of them. That is once they find a suitable candidate to be turned into one.
The best part is, not a single one of the fallen heroes are mentioned as being female or transtodes. All the heroic sacrifices, and yet, none of them are women. However, the Sisters of Silence, who have always stood by the Custodes wherever they go, are female-and they’re essentially the female version of the Custodes, just like how the Sisters of Battle are the equivalent of Space Marines. Both have their own deep, rich and very intricate lore that send chills down your spine when you dive into it’s novels. But somehow, GW in their infinite wisdom decided, “Nahhhh, fuck faithful rendetion, there shall now be women Custodes” like God himself declaring, “Let there be light” GW said, “Let this continuity error be canon” and they probably also said “DEI investment and ESG scores, yummerrss”
In the end, the whole universe is fiction and we get to choose what we believe. So as far as i care, there are no female custodes or space marines and there never will be.
Without even watching the full video yet it surely would have to be the War in the Webway
Magnus, after removing the webway seal of the Lion's Gate: "Father - Horus has betrayed us!"
9000 dead Custodes later
Emperor: "As have you my son..."
MAGNUS!!!!!!!!!!
Magnus probably did as much damage to the Imperium as Horus, the failure of Webway project is devastating
Thank you for the great video, and great animations!

Terrawatt clans supplies the armor and equipment, while the custodes chirurgeons and bio-alchemist do the making process of new custodeans.

So there should only be like 1000 custodes in 40k or are there more? How do they make more Custodes? Is this why female Custodes were introduced?
No
