i did a video on how to program your old keys to that new pcm for the torrent the new pcm don't recognize the old key so when you reprogram the old keys to it its in sync with the ecm and pcm on another note that can problem could be is the batter terminals there to corroded to make a good contact try to clean it with a wire brush real good
@@WagsAutomotive ok this might sound crazy but this was one of my problems look at the back of the engine near the manifold and see if that harness wire laying on it I noticed mine was and it was grounded itself out which was shortening the PCM out
Run a ground wire to the side of the ecm thru one of the bolt holes or just touch the body of the ecm with a wire coming from the negative battery terminal……thank me later
@@WagsAutomotive I had a similar no-start issue. The key would intermittently turn (and the car would start) or it wouldn't. I thought it was something with the column/keyswitch. In the end, the key itself was worn enough that it would work some of the time and not others. I had a new key cut from the VIN and problem solved 100%.
Bummer!!!! I was hoping you had it fixed...
Me too. But..... Nope! 🤬
You have to have the dealer release your theft system in order for your ecm you got off ebay to work.... going through the same thing....
@@chrislang8245 Yep took it to them and so far it's working fine!
Did you figure it out sir?
@@miawldr9511 I've driven it over 1000 miles with no issues after changing out the ECM.
Hello did you find out what caused the problem
No I have not, sorry. I'll be working on it later on. Gotta change the ECU next....
Did you fix the overall problem? Mine wont do anything when i turn the key
No, so far everything I've tried hasn't worked. 🙄
So grounding the ecm like the guy above said didn't work? I'm so frustrated. There's nothing worse then turning the key and nothing happens
@@Swifty8519 No it hasn't worked for me. 🙄
@@WagsAutomotive my main plug on my starter was unplugged. What a relief
@@Swifty8519 That's not my issue! 🤷

I actually did a video on how bad the battery terminals were, and I cut them & installed new ends! 😁
@@WagsAutomotive oh ok so did it fix the problem
@@R2A300 Nope. Problem is still there... 🙄 I guess I need to buy a new ECM.

I feel for you 2006 Torrent owner here
Yep. I guess it's getting a new ECM next! 🤬🤬🤬
Mine was working good to the computer hit the Live.. wire. And now she won't start.
That sucks! 🤬

A ground wire to the body of the ecm will fix my problem?
@@WagsAutomotive yes I have the same vehicle with the same problem
@@WagsAutomotive I can email you my number or I can send you a video of what my suv was doing and how I fixed it in real time
@@sammyppee OK I'll certainly try it! If running a ground wire to the ecm fixes it, I'll be very happy! I'll thank you now and give it a shot!
@@WagsAutomotive ok just do me one favor give me a shoutout lol
Your key is worn out. Get the VIN and have the dealer cut you a new key.
@@altowasher That's going to keep it from starting? Or not let the key release?
