Newbie here, why do you need a larger motor when the full power can't be put to the ground (serious question)? I'm trying to decide on which short course truck to get and they all seem to _need_ some stability control when running on 3S batteries. Traxxas has the TSM but Arrma and TA don't (unless I am mistaken). I'm considering going with a different radio/receiver that has some sort of stability control to help.
Hello , I didn’t really put a bigger more powerful motor I put in a better quality system that has a little bit more power than stock but easier to control the kv’s of the motor I put in is 3200 which is a little less than the stock 3300 I was just wanting to try out the new Copperhead system. And the 4 x 4 short course trucks That have stability control is the losi TT pro and the Traxxas 4 x 4 VLX either one of these are good options !
@@metalrc Thank you for the response, _very_ helpful. Two weeks ago, I didn't understand about sensor vs non-sensored motors and now understand better why the Castle is a better quality system. So much to learn! But it's fun though!
Please explain that motor shim your talking about. My son just stripped his gear because of this flex. I also put a castle mamba x 3800kv combo and it's awesome. Any issues with the wheels filling up with dirt. My son's rear are completely full and exploded the bearing in the rear diff
When I say motor shim really just mean a washer on the lower motor mount screw where it pivots at the chassis Back the lower motor mount screw off slide a washer inside between the aluminum motor mount plate and the plastic chassis and then put the screw back through it it helps tighten it up hope that helps
@@metalrc I finally fixed it. It has a ton of slop out of the box. Any issues with breaking arms. Broke one so I put the rpm on. Also any driveshaft issues. Just stocking up on parts for my son cause he likes to break them.
@@terryfrome1641 I have been trashing this truck and have had no problems with this truck at all but I have a rival mt10 same chassis set up short wheel base and have broken front gear boxes and rear drive shafts on that one . I suggest getting drive shafts on hand
the dust cover doesn't seem to keep any amount of dust out though as there are open holes in the tray. It mostly keeps larger pieces out. Drift this on some loose dirt and those electronics will be coated.
I have used this on lots of loose dirt and that dust cover works wonders that has been great and actually works very well you do get a little dust in there but it helps keep the motor and electronics cool
Notice any difference in shocks yet? Also i feel that the rear is to open not enough lock and u can actually see in your video that under power it quits sliding and catches and flips over ...... Id say most of what u feel is slide is tires imo...... The stock rear diff oil is 3k cant go much lower .......... And stick diff oil is 100k in center per team ass book ......... With out lookin front to rear is 60k 100k 3k ..... I love the truck so far but 99% of ur assment i agree with ..... Servo is slow to much power to the front( not enough slide in the rear under power) ....... I am curious why u went castle already vs stock eletronics ..... I do have that system in my og sc10 4x4 though and so far i love it
Subbed man. Good vid. I got the Pro4 sc10 arriving tomorrow. Eventually I'd like to try convert it to a desert buggy. From what you can tell, do you think this would be a good platform to start with?
I can't seem to find but do you know if this has an all metal drivetrain & transmission? I thought I remember Team Associated used (or maybe still do) use a lot of plastic drivetrains. Any idea on this if that's true or not? Thanks.
All metal gears except for the spur gear with proper mesh the spur gear is tough . It has a Steel center shaft and plastic drive shafts to the wheels team associated just released front and rear steel drive shafts as an option
@@metalrc thank you much man. I'm a big believer in metal internals and I'm fine with a plastic spur gear. That's an easy thing to replace and if something is theoretically weaker IE plastic, I'd prefer it be on the outside where it's easy to access. This looks like a really good rig.
Did u change your diff fluid also guys dont shim your motor in this way its not corect proper way to do it is to go get some smaller 3mm flat heads bam no shim needed
Well both trucks are priced the same and come with About the same quality electronics . I would go with which one is easier for you to get parts for check with your local hobby shops
Should I get the Senton blx or this pro4?!
Did you change the pinion gearing? Going for the same setup unsure what pinion would be a good choice. Any recommendation? Thanks for the content!
@@PrimeTrial-ds9mc I left the gearing same as stock
That truck looks so good, we have the ProSC10 and absolutely love it. Nice video 👍🏼

What castle motor and esc will fit in the team associated? Without rigging things together. I want something that will fit perfect. Thanks
Is there a smaller motor in length made by castle that will fit in like the stock motor? That has more power?

Put a 4268 or 4274mm can in it looks way to heavy.
The car is about 2 kg, any 3660/3662 motor is more than enough, a 4268 size wont fit and they're used on more heaavy trucks like 1/8 buggies...
