I have read this in some film magazine that Lataji was caught crooning Jaiye Aap Kaha Jayenge actually sung by Ashaji. Would it be true?
The greatness of Lata ji is very much evident in her condolence message to O.P.Nayar Saab. Great artist never talk about them but appreciate others talents .
Lataji has shown her greatness by admiring good qualities of 0.P.Nayar sab.
It's one thing to honour a person when he's still alive and quite another thing to talk nice things and pay just lip service after he is no more there. The two things are miles apart. Lata was very arrogant and stubborn. She discarded many artists. SD Burman Mohammed Rafi Suman Kalyan just to name a few. What she is now saying are just crocodile tears. Let us stand for truth. Have the courage to say what Lata really did.

He is the only top music director in hindi film industry who never recorded a single song with Lataji. His songs were top hits. I think he was initially responsible to the popularity of Ashaji. Great music director who created great music.

But I think the lyricist Kavi Pradeep wrote the song and created the tune.I watched a video of Pradeep where he explained that he always wrote lyrics with the tune in mind . Apparently, when he handed the lyrics for movie Sambandh,he sang the song to his tune. MR Nayar was most annoyed because he said it was his job to compose the tune. Kavi Pradeep told him that he ( being a singer) always ensured that his lyrics was sung in a particular way, which was His Way.

The outlandish reality that both the legendary music director O.P. Nayyarji and singing deity Lata Mangeshkarji never worked with each other throughout their shared career and to paraphrase that there is not even a single song, solo or duet, sung by Lataji's under Nayyarji music direction-to the chagrin of thousands of their fans across the length and breadth of the country- never flies in the face of the fact that the duo was the greatest of their time. On the other hand, this is also a reality the whole world has been deprived of a miraculous combination of the brightest stars on the firmament of Indian films!
I disagree. Nobody cares that Lata and OP Naiyar never worked together. It created an opportunity for other singers such as Geeta Dutt,Suman Kalyanpur and not forgetting Asha Bhonsle to come to the fore.

It is an utter lie that OPs compositions were not appropriate for Latas style of singing. OP just chose not to work with Lata. I Will not call this badappan bit sour grapes
It's not a lie but factual that OPN rythmic music didn't suit Lataji, maybe his music mostly based on Punjabi folk. Of course, apart, there may be some other reason that OPN didn't get any songs sung by Lataji. Inspite, OPN survived in the film industry with his unique musical style; for nearly 2 decades. This shows that even without Lataji one can do well in the film industry. This is indeed a record of OPN that no other music directors dared to do
