So I'm Mark Breton. I'm a professor in the school of medicine at the Center for Diabetes Technology. And I focus on finding new solutions that leverage technology to manage diabetes.
And so to use continuous glucose monitoring or automated insulin pump or even mathematical simulation to help patients, to help physicians make the right decision or even make the decisions for them.
The primary solution that we've brought to the field is really automated insulin delivery. It's also often referred to as artificial pancreas. What it is is an insulin pump connected to continuous glucose monitor, and with an algorithm in it that will make decision every five minutes and change the dose, if necessary. Every five minutes, taking most of the work out of the hands of the patients.
From what we hear, it's improved their glycemic. It's, improved sleep. Most definitely. and we are working on the next generation to make it even more seamless and more efficient.
