IM A BIG FAN😍😊☝
This series have been really good, very informative and detailed.
Msi for me love those gold trims
I prefer MSI GS65 RF with CPU undervolting that makes all AAA-games playeble at Ultra Settings with 60C temperature
-150v or what? still havent tried undervolt but want to. then liquid metal once i decide to add more storage.
Really, Aorus X5? Where's Gigabyte Aero 15?
I wanted to compare them against a machine that is slightly thicker and see the performance difference. I do mention the Aero 15X as an option near the end.
I read the Aero 15 has a horrible OS system and causes an incredible amount of issues. I have also seen that on multiple big reviewers.
james faul “OS system”? Is that like a new acronym I do not know of, or is ur butt brain so dumb you don’t know OS stands for “Operating System”?
Lmao fuck outta here. If you don't understand what I meant, then go back to 4chan to troll elsewhere
james faul well, nobody would have understood what u meant anyways. It’s like you’re saying while every other laptop is running windows, the Aero 15 has its own unique OS, and it’s horrible? And “trolling”... dude, it’s alrd halfway through 2018.
Screw the laptops, I want to see more of that doggo at the end of the movie.
Such floof
Very doggo
Bruhh
The MSI gap bothers me more than it should lol
Devtron same! That’s why I went with the Razer.
sean lynch The only thing is Razer has shit quality control and customer support. If yours function for 8+ months with no problem then you are really lucky.
Sudha Kumari I've been using my Skylake GTX 1060 blade for 2 years now , and there isn't a single problem with it
11:14 what dog is that? Its so awesome
Chris Breezy I believe it's a border Collie, or however you spell it.
I ended up going with the MSI, I found one with 32 gigs of RAM, 1terabyte of storage and with a 1070 for a decent price, I mostly use it for digital animation and vfx and I gotta say I’m super impressed. It’s very powerful and very compact. The only downside I would say is that the battery life is definitely NOT 6 hours. I get 3 hours max on battery saver settings. Idk if there’s something I need to tweak with it but overall I’m very happy with it!!
This is the review I have been looking for... Finally. Thanks!
I came looking for advice on how imma save up for a laptop, and seeing this their all really expensive :’)) in 2 years I can afford one of those but by then ofc they’ll be better versions TT
I lean more towards the Razer, mainly because of the MSI's upside-down motherboard that makes it extremely difficult to upgrade memory, etc.. That was a deal-breaker for me on an otherwise nice-looking laptop with good performance.
I thought that too until I actually got it and.. I gotta say, it looks a LOT scarier than it actually is, it really isn't that hard to remove everything, it's only like 5 more screws to get rid of and a couple of ribbon connectors to disconnect and voila there you have it. Recently did that repaste the CPU and upgrade the SSD so trust me when I say it is fairly simple to get to the back.
I got the MSI GS65. I like the looks and the price point. I understand the upgrading can be challenging but once you upgrade the unit, you never have to make another upgrade. It's not like I have to open the unit up every time. I also like the keyboard lighting and the software hardware setting feature. Light weight and build quality look good so far to me. Purchased the unit at Best Buy for $1999 in July and I don't have a complaint. I do use a wireless keyboard and mouse which have functioned flawlessly. I don't see my unit run at high temperatures.
I feel for the Razer Blade. I think that the design and it’s overall smoothness can add up for the lack of power. Also. It’s probably the nicest gaming laptop that I’ve seen in a long time. So if your going to also work and carrying it around, my buck would go to the Razer!
Which is good between msi gs65 stealth thin or razer blade 15 advanced for purchase??
Harsh Miyani im asking myself the same question 😂
Harsh Miyani Which did you end up purchasing?
You can say an opinion that laptop is better and good quality between the Razer Blade 15.6, Asus Rog GM501 Zephyrus M and Msi GS65
Man you killed this review you really know your stuff 👌🏾
This is what I want in a gaming laptop, can anyone provide suggestions?:
- Touch Screen
- GPU 1070 or greater
- Boot Drive: 256GB SSD NVME
- M.2 NVME Expansion Slot
- Keyboard/Mousepad Layout similar to GS65
- Type-C Thunderbol 3.1
- 120Hz Refresh Minimum
- CPU Similar to GS65
- 16GB Ram Minimum
- 2560 x 1440 Capable Screen
- Size: Similar to GS65
- Price: No greater than 2K
Not sure that's possible for under 2k but I may be wrong.
Gs65
I literally just brought the Razer blade 15 (60hz, GTX 1060 MAXQ, 256GB), I'm a student studying computing and had the spare cash to buy a new laptop. I chose the Razer blade over the MSI because the base model is about £300 cheaper than the base model of the MSI and the extra specs you get with the higher models weren't worth the extra cash for me. With the other £300 I brought accessories and other things I am needing to buy anyway. Also with the higher end Razer blade laptops, the better graphics cards will of course produce more heat and the performance difference isn't big enough between the 1060 and 1070 to justify the price for me - I don't think I'd really notice a difference at all.
One thing that put me off the cheaper Razer for sure was the lack of storage, with high end laptops in previous years a 1TB HDD + SSD was standard. I would have preferred to have more storage come with the Razer blade as the price is still pretty high, but the isn't too much of an issue and can be easily solved with external hard drives or upgrading the SSD.
The Razer blade 15 option overall just gave me more options and ticked all the boxes for what I was wanting the laptop to do, but if money wasn't at all an issue I'd have probably chosen the higher end MSI as reviews have shown thermals being consistently better and MSI as a company have more experience building laptops - that being said it would still be a close call between that and the high end Razer blade 15 as I much prefer the look of the Razer blade.
- side note, why don't these big brands target the student market more? Most students have loans and more money than they need, it'd be justifiable as it is both an investment into productivity and leisure, AND everyone student age is a slave to technology - hire me
Are you still using this laptop? and hows the battery life? . I Will use it for editing videod with softwares like adobe premier and after effect
Dude who are you? Very awesome video. All the fucking information one would need in a fucking high quality content video. I'll be watching more of you. Keep going!
Well I am very interested in purchasing the Razer Blade 15 for a few reasons: awesome design + good for photo editing and good for gaming + thin & light. First I wanted to get the Razer Blade Stealth but seriously who needs a touch screen on a laptop? No one. And since the bezels on the 15 are so thin it's quite the small laptop nowadays. Battery life is also good enough IMO. The only thing I am worried about is fan noise? I am sure they are never really off so I wonder if it's possible to hear them on idle?
The one thing that should be mentioned is that the Razer Blade 15, especially with a 1070 is nearly impossible to find. I don't think Razer can make enough, hence the extremely high price. Also the Razer Blade 15 4K Touch version has been delayed at least twice and never been available for sale as of this video's release.
Like I said, the 1070 version is almost impossible to find (Razor online, Best Buy, Microsoft Store, etc).
You have to also keep in mind that the 1060 in the Razer blade 15 is maxq while the 1060 in the others are full ones.
I just got the Razer Blade 15, better than my main pc with a GTX 1060
Great review, I'd just like to suggest perhaps giving us viewers an idea of how these laptops handle thermals, most (if not all in this category) heat up a lot due to the chassis contraints. I myself put thermals as one of my biggest considerations when looking at laptops with these specs. Peace!
What about the gigabyte aero 15x?
Correction: The Zephyrus does not have a maxq but a full gtx card
Really good video, thanks for the comparison. Can u please include a few details of their customer support level. Thanks.
I love my gs65. I have it on my channel playing a few games as well.
therealtyrant
How does it perform, battery life and the screen looks?
Also is there any heating problem or any sort of throttling issue?
GoFool you can look on my channel to see the screen. The computer is not throttling for me and the screen looks pretty damn amazing! Nice bright and vivid.
I have one, very thin metal chassis easy flexible ..., Speakers very bad quality, extreme overheat after 1 year (95° CPU/GPU ingame)
I wanted the razerblade but couldn't justify the extra $400. So far I'm very happy with my gs65 stealth thin. I went for the gtx 1070 version. Only issues is heat but no differnt than the razerblade.
I purchased the Razer Blade stealth 15 and I am nothing but happy with the purchase. I bought mine at bestbuy with a GTX 1060 Max-q design for $2200. Sure it was a bit steep on the price but the build quality and performance justify it. I’ve mostly played Overwatch and Fallout 4 on it and they both run beautifully at high graphic settings. Not to mention the 144 Hz display is buttery smooth. I’m going to be a Game Design major at college and this laptop is perfect for my needs (gaming, programming, streaming videos). I can’t speak for the other options but I would definitely recommend the Razer Blade stealth!!!
sean lynch some here, but I needed more portable memory, and the 512 gab wasn’t nearly enough for me. Went with the Aorus x5. (When I say not enough room, I didn’t want to pay a lot more for ssd’s. they cost so much)
I'm still using the Razer blade 14 with the Skylake GTX 1060 with them THICC bezels T.T for 2 years now
What a nice, comprehensive review. I really appreciate what you said about the warranty service and getting I extended not straight from the manufacturer
Glad I got my GS65. So light and super powerful.
im looking into a gs65 how are you liking it so far?
brian b I am planning to get the MSI P65
Temperature ¿?
Just started college been gone from home for about 14 hours a day would be nice to have a razer simply because the still is nice doesnt seem to draw to much attention like the others my problem is people saying how bad it lasts how true is that? It's like a 50 50 split I see one half says it works fine and the other half just complains about it.
I've had a few gs63 laptops, 1 gs65, and 3 razer blade. one of my razer blades faulty usb ports. the msi laptops never gave me a single problem. just sucks trying to upgrade anyhting.
Apple lover here. So if I had to choose it would probably be the Razer. Though I have seen some feedback on QC issues with the Razer Blade line... Still, if I could find one that aced the QC tests!!! :-)
Great Videos. I've been doing a lot of research and not many of the youtubers have went over this new zephyrus. You need to make a video on Asus zephyrus GX501GI-XS74
Wow, 2.9-3Ghz under load? I had an Alienware 15R4 I just returned because of a glitch in the AlienFX light controller. But I could easily set Throttlestop to hold it at 3.4Ghz steady with max freq on the GPU and it would stay in the mid to upper 80C and never waver for hours. SO everyone is complaining about the AW's "thermals" and size (granted it's 8 lbs); but at least you are able to get significant performance out of it.
i went with gs65 because its significantly cheaper and has to m.2 slots. its also a plus that it has an Ethernet port and a bigger keyboard with slightly better layout. i like the razer blade because it gives the illusion of being thinner, its smaller, much easier to upgrade, better speakers, and looks better aside from the razer logo. the Aorus im sure sounds like a vacuum.
Great Review, Can you OC the 8850H in the Aorus X5 just like you did with its bigger sister the X7?
I'd value performance and features over style and weight. The Aorus X5 in a perfect world would be my pick.
11:25 hello doggo:)
I am very glad to know about ur channel, especially at this time
The ASUS Zephyrus M GS501 has option to switch between G-Sync and Optimus with a system restart and its not with Max-Q 1070, it has a full 1070 ( yeah ... the mobile version). I think that would be my choice for a tin and light machine, but I don't think that now is the moment to buy one, unless you need one. The GTX 10 series is out for 2 years now and the GTX 11 series is right around the corner. There is also the fact that because of AMD's CPU success Intel will be releasing the new 9 gen core I7 CPUs this year ( or so this are the rumors), maybe in the beginning of the next year we will see better tin and light laptops with much better battery life because of the new smaller chips in CPU and GPU.
This video was perfect perfect perfect, couldn't have asked for a better explanation!
GS65 is on another level. One of the best laptop releases in 2018.
I purchased the Aorus X5 based off your review. Over the last two years I've owned it, I've hated every moment of it. The computer constantly crashes and sounds like a jet plane when running. Today the 2nd motherboard crashed.
I have been trying to get a GS65 with a 1070 but the retailer send me a bad one twice. A faulty left fan on both. Compairing the serial number showed it was created close to eachother. As the razer and gigabyte are unavailable here I fail to find an alternative. Speed and screen were as you mentioned. Awsome.
They are all Stunning😊😍
Very good and honest review , thank you
can you review the xmg neo 15? its based on a thin bezel tongfang barebone, and it's a very interesting product like gs 65 stealth, razorblade and aero 15x for about 1000 bucks less. I think it is an incredible machine. You should revview it =)
Hi
You did not mention the overheating on the X5. It’s unplayable. Not only it throttles back as it switches off. I~m already on the second motherboard exchange. It cannot run P3D with full settings and addons This PC is a scam
Aorus X5 😍😍😍 by the way nice video 🙂
Review is overall great but how can you do a review this in-depth and skip over arguably THE most important part of thin gaming laptops? (Thermal throttling)
Way to not mention the coil whine the Razer is notorious for having. Nearly everyone has returned them more than twice for this issue with no resolve.
Will these all run games like black desert online or mmorpgs?
Awesome. This was a great help.
Goddamn that MSI is a beast! If I had an unlimited budget for a laptop, I'd go with the GS65 & upgrade the cpu to the i7 9750H.
The Aorus X5 seems more like a something you'd compare to the ASUS Strix II, rather than the Blade 15 and GS65.
C.T. Productions yep
GS65 or Razer Blade is what I’m considering
Same
Brandon Thelwell-Romney just bought the razer
Update: After work I’m going to get the MSI GS65. Went to the store and looked at it before making my decision and I’m happy as hell I did that. The Razer Blade is cool but I fell in love with the GS65 as soon as I touched it.
Steven Lee u aint getting the razor blade for 500-600 lmaoo
@Steven Lee I've got a GS65 for $1200 on craigslist. completely brand new. there was a Razer Blade for $1600 256gb on OfferUp but as tempting as that is i couldn't pass on the price and more storage of the GS65. im happy with it though. just doesn't look as sleek as the Blade but don't think think they are that much different. with all that said, for anyone on a budget, look up for used GS63vr laptops. I've had 2 in the past for $800 or less.
Anyone here have a gs65, if so, please link me with the site you bought it from and tell me if its good!
well done, thank you
Hey.
What do you think about gs65 thin heat problem? i want to use it for Word of warcraft BFA on medium or high settings" but im affraid of the overheating issues...before i pay 2100 euro i want to be sure is it worth or not...thank you.
Pleaseee, do the review of the new Y530 from Lenovo, mate, I really like your style
great review - eyes on razer :)
Hello, I am looking for a gaming laptop that is good for architecture programs for school. I don't want to spend a lot of money on one, however, if I have to spend the money- I would want something that is going to last me well after I finish school. Do you have any suggestions on the laptops I should look into?
You can start with an HP omen, is a very good choice
Shouldn't the Aorus X5 be FHD 1920x1080 IPS 144Hz? Is 3k available??
3k is available but it is 60Hz.
No lan port for Razer? Sad.
Hi, this gives me a lot of help, but I'm graphic designer, I'm working a lot on photography, video editing and motion graphics on the go cause' I really travel a lot, I mostly use Adobe premiere/after effects/Ilustrator/Photoshop/CaptureOne and cinema4D, Which one you recommend ? MSI GS65, AORUS x5 or Predator HELIOS 500 ?
Hi jo... Im architect too... My personal opinion... i would choose msi gs65, coz the model realy simple, black and just like a box... Simple and mature...
From the looks of it the MSI GS65 doesn't have an SD card reader, which could be an issue for you
If I were in your spot I would purchase the AORUS X5, here's why: The AORUS X5 has a SD card reader for transfering your files easier from your camera equipment, it also has a 1 TB HDD for more storage of your files and editing softwares, lastly it has a more powerful processor which would be great to have when rendering and such.
Great video!
Which is the quietest for music production?
For people asking where's the Alienware , these laptops are thin and light where else the Alienware is thick and heavy that is why this is not in the review
I ordered the Razer 15 and burned out the network card out within two weeks. Sent it back on RMA. Ordered an Alienware 15 r4 and found out today that Dell is 'holding' it because they are low on charging blocks for it. So week #2 without a true laptop.
Im very divided between the razer and the msi. If anyone has a razer can you please tell me how the tehrmals are? Is it that hot that you cant rest your arms on it when typing? Im going to use it for coding mostly.
which computer has the best cooling?
Which has better speakers?
Melbourne Dauz I don’t know about the others but the Razer has pretty decent speaker, but lacks bass.
Love your videos 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Where are the laptops? Actual should be shown when reviewing
About f*cking time! Been waiting for this!!! Thank you!!! (I'm happy by the way😅)
I chose the GS65, the issues most people have with it I really don’t care about.
Is (ThinkPad P1 Mobile Workstation) good for gaming??
Are you sure about razerblade's battery life? I get 8 hours with the 14 inch but only 4 with the 15....and it's changed to 60hz!
Israel Alvarado yeah. The battery life isn’t great on the razor :/
I was wanting to buy the razer blade 15 but I dont know if I can trust Amazon for the item. Ive heard a lot of the products on Amazon might be fake and I was just curious since it is a lot cheaper to buy it on Amazon, I want an honest opinion on if I should buy it on the official Razer website or buy it from Amazon.
Sora Schlegel Make sure the seller is Amazon and not a third party seller. If I am correct since the Razer Blade 15 is rather new Amazon will have it at MSRP so you are probably looking at the incorrect model if it is cheaper
I would go Amazon over Razor, purely for customer service. Just do as Raul suggests and buy through Amazon Prime.
Titron 500 or gs65 stealth?
I’m gonna go with the Razer Blade 15. I’m bringing it to college and I value the style, build quality, and thinness more than that little extra performance boost from the others.
Make sure to buy it off of bestbuy or something. Dealing with their own customer service is horrible.
It's Steve would the Microsoft store be good too?
Does it mean MaxQ is a lie? Without maxq looks better.
Love your video
What about the asus strix 2
Some companies that provide extended warranty services for Razer blade 15 product?
Where’s the MSI GT75. Is it worth the i9?
I like razer much better lol
Please do the Alienware laptop 15 r4 or r3
Anthony landeros its 2018. Nobody buys alienware, people have raised awareness
The new Asus GM501 is not Max-Q
Delsage ur right
What do you guys think about the keyboard of the MSI GS65 I think the shallow keyboard won't be nice but I want feedback
I enjoy the keyboard, solid travel time
It was the one thing that threw me off at first wasnt too happy with the key travel. Its been a few days since i got it and have been looking for reason to return it and get the razer blade but i got used to the keyboard way faster than i expected and really dont mind it at all now. Dont see why i should spend 600 more after the gs65 has grown on me so much even though the blade does have a better build quality.
Jordi Alva? Is that you ?
Aftab Ahemad 1180?
a football player from FC Barcelona
Your profile pic is you
What about the new Asus Strix 2 system?
Y740 or razer blade 15?
id rather get an mx150/ i7 8550u laptop and a desk mini tbh
NYC sir very best god bless you sir🙏🏻🙏🏻
Gs65 awsome
Aorus all the way!
Ayeee nice video!
I’m too broke for all of them
kachunkie well duh, thats because youre a stupid ass little kid with no job who will never afford these.
Review the new Lenovo Legion Y530 please!
Which one should i buy MSI GS65 (gtx 1060, 144hz) or Razor Blade (gtx 1060 maxQ, 60hz)
Which ever one you can afford. The gs65 has a full 1060 with the 144hz display which is awesome. I cant see my self paying close to $2000 for a maxq and only 60hz.
It's Steve Thanks buddy for the help, im going to buy msi gs65:))
Super_7Ace- Don't forget to check out the Aero 15w ( it is still the Aero 15x) the difference is just the 1060 not a 1070. That is pretty good too
Don't.... you will regret it ...
cherif haddad do u have one?
