Yo, I’ve been following you guys for some time now over on Instagram and I am intrigued with the innovative concept you guys are doing. As a dodgeball enthusiast I love the sport and wish to improve every time I play, though there is one small problem. My throwing capabilities. I do not have any good strategy or technique to thow with both accuracy and consistency and I would therefore love to see a video about said! Keep it up and I’ll see you guys around!
Hey Tuot, appreciate your support 🙏 Check out our ultimate throwing video, hope this helps: ua-cam.com/video/UKuhkDN5msg/v-deo.html We will be doing a more in depth one in the future 👍
@@TheDodgeballDudes Update: Yes, as Said i have mostly been following you guys on Instagram and recently found some of your useful videos, though I somehow have been able to miss the ultimate throwing guide (which I am deep into as we speak). Sorry for any inconvenience, and I wish you the best! And thanks for the help!
just found your channel! you guys rule this is actually so helpful, also very cool to see tips from Aussie dodgeball players! (I’m playing in Brisbane, Queensland). Gonna try some of these at my game tonight!

I'm here because my friend signed me up for dodgeball without asking me- i don't even know how to play and tmr is the match 😭😭🤣 BUT DON'T WORRY YOUR VIDS REALLY HELPED! THANKS FOR THE GUIDANCE
As an absolute noob at catching, I'm wondering if there's any good tips about how your arms should actually move? I've heard about catching by closing up from underneath the ball but realised the ball would continue to pop out downwards. As simple as it sounds I've noticed this might be because of my elbows not being tighter to my body. Wondering if anyone can confirm this?
Simpson suggests to treat it like a scoop, palms open facing up, fingers together (not flexed out), wait for the ball to hit you and then close your hands to your chest (or catching zone). Sorry I couldn't fit it all the tips otherwise the video would have been a 1 hour movie ;D hope this helps!
Not sure about others, but in my experience, when catching, I tend to: - Keep my elbows loosely by my side and forearms in front with palms up (This helps make it easy for me to catch as I only have to reposition arm angle slightly and fold my forearms back in to trap the ball to me (like the photo of Peter in the video banner). If my arms were not tucked in, it personally feels like it needs more fine-tuned control to bring both hands up to the target area as well as a looser overall grip on the ball) - stance is lower, with legs bent (just in case the ball doesn't come to the catching zone, I'm ready to dodge instead)
What about tips for catching hands out? It's a risky thing to try and do, but sometimes necessary. I find it's the opposite of cricket, you gotta snatch at it and clench real hard rather than try to have soft hands like in cricket
Bro my Japanese classmates they reach and catch the ball So here’s how to do it when a person throw at the person they want to hit but miss but the person reach and get hit right but my Japanese classmates are different they reach and they bounce it to the air they don’t bounce at the ground at the air they are like throwing the ball mid air and they have time to catch and that’s how my classmate do it
