@SmellofFear we differ on what the image of God is, I just finished reading H. Bavinck on this and I agree with him that if we lose the image of God we are not humans anymore because we are his image in our essence.
@SmellofFear He was certainly really good, too. My family and I were graced to travel down to Atlanta the week before last for the G3 national conference, and one of the books we bought was Sproul’s book on abortion, literally titled; “Abortion”. ‘What’s wrong with you people’?!
Can I ask what you mean? It’s not evident to me how the new birth or regeneration connects to maturity. I can see sanctification overtime leading to maturity. But I could very well be missing your meaning.
God's Image in us is His Fulness in us. It is the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit dwelling inside of us. That is what makes us new creatures in Christ as the Apostle Paul teaches. John Chapter 14 makes this indwelling clear, and there are many other Verses that show us that we receive Of His Fulness and because we have received, Father, Son, and Spirit make Their abode in us and thus, we carry His Image in is. The Image is a Trinity. God is Three in One and we also are three in One: Soul, Spirit, and Heart. Your soul is your identity. Your heart is your seat of desire. Your spirit is your seat of knowledge. When one comes to Christ, God merges into our soul, spirit, and heart and that is what makes us a new creature. John 14:23 Also Galatians 4:6 and Romans 8:16. We carry His Image because we were made three in one just as He is Three in One. We have three minds, and God dwells in our minds when we became saved. There are so many Verses.
My favorite living theologian, God bless him!
One of my favorites for sure. Up there with MacArthur, Washer, Voddie, Lawson, Alistair, & Mbewe
@@patrickc3419 they will all go down in history

@SmellofFear I read your quote but I disagree because even children born to sinners are made in the image of God
