@@sodddit8360i don’t wanna speak on behalf of theceo but yeah i get it too. it’s just always been that way-hell, it took me years before i ever made a yt account and even more before i started liking and commenting. there isn’t something rational to explain, but i know i feel it. at the end of the day, interacting online is still a form of interacting with someone else, and i think that’s the intimidating part. bro discord servers are terrifying to me. i really like my privacy, and having that breached is wildly uncomfortable. if i’m alone, i know nobody is watching me. online, there is the possibility that someone can. doesn’t matter if it’s irrational and there’s a pretty low chance of someone wasting time watching another user/player. the fact that i can be alone and eyes can still be on me (my presence online) is unpleasant. so, i have little to no social media presence, use burner emails, different usernames, etc. i mean, i get nervous when i think about queuing for casual lmao. if i saw this comment a couple years ago, i definitely would not have liked and replied. but hey! ironically enough, i still do love the internet
@@sodddit8360 depends on the format. In my case, something detatched like youtube comments is fine, it's super impersonal. Game chat I'm usually fine with as well, cuz everybody's just focused on the game and you don't really think of being nervous, but like voice chat, or direct one on one communication, even over text, it just makes you hyper aware of everything you say to the point you can't actually focus on the conversation at hand, and likely end up saying something asinine and idiotic cause your mind is elsewhere.
