Portals Nous and Puerto Portals Mallorca - 15th March 2023

Our friends, Martin and Barbara, are planning their trip to Portals Nous and wondered what changes had happend there since their last visit. So I went down to the Marina Portals Hotel, while Anita was with the KnitWits, and started my walk.
I also went down to the beach and finished by walking through the port.

Well it looks lovely there Steve was a place where the wealthy hung out that's why there was so many Banks and oh yes You and Anita lived there Mmmmmmmmmm🤭🤭

The 2 little bars next to the pharmacy are Cocos and La Rua, very worth to visit! And the restaurant overseeing the beach ,is called Lila,a very good restaurant! We go to La Rua and Lila a lot ,2 of our favorite places. Another one we also go often is Hotel Bendinat, a good class restaurant ,with a beautifull view at the bay.Worth a visit! Maybe you can go and mention it once.

I lived in Portals nous for one month once in 2001 March time and I had to get a bus to Peguera every day for work in a holiday ownership pack office. The beach is really nice at Portals Nous.

My favourite hotel is the BQ Belvedere in Cala Major. I'm due to stay there for the 6th time in April. I've seen your other videos about the college just down the road😎. Cala Major to Palma cathedral is a great walk.

The s’Oratori beach looks deeper this year, especially at the Roxy end and it looks like the beach stretches all the way there. In recent years, that end almost disappeared, leaving a narrow rocky ledge against the cliff. Let’s hope it doesn’t get washed away during the spring. Do you know this is a natural beach or was it created during construction of the port to compensate for the beach lost at the bottom of the Calle de Torrent where Cappuccino now sits?

The beach was created when they built the port. Before that it was a narrow rocky shore all the way along.

The couple of little bars ,one of them is La Rua,a lot of locals come there,it,s realy nice ,maybe sometime you can give it some attention? So many old villas are being removed ,there,s so much building on in Portals Nous...,are they making a new
Holywood or whatever out of our village?

Lots of high end and beautiful hotels in Portals but for location (to the port and centre of village) and value for money you can't go wrong with Marina Portals
