Mine said he would blame our daughter because she should’ve chosen better. Laughable honestly because he’s honestly speaking about me towards himself. 🙄😭
Yeah, but asking people to see it from another person's point of view is a technique known to induce empathy in those with low levels of it. So sometimes it can work with a narcissist, albeit maybe only to encourage cognitive empathy, rather than emotional.
It sure does not work at all!!! I’ve tried asking this in different ways many times.. either the answer has been something off the wall or tried gaslighting me into thinking im crazy some how for even asking it or just disregarding the me and the questions all together.. smh
Yesss, I said that tp my narcissistic-ex and about him calling me out my name and physically abusing me he said my daughter wouldn't be dumb enough to deal with someone like that....those exact words...so I'm like you think I'm dumb then lol. And I WAS 🤡 smh I have learned now
Oh yes indeed!!! When she finally officially discarded me, we talk afterwards. She texted me at 5:30 on the morning before a my birthday; telling them that “it’s not going to work out, we should go our separate ways.” I didn’t react emotionally but when we spoke I said a couple times “if the shoe was on the other foot,” “ if you were in my shoes.” I even tried to apologize once for a perceived mistake I had made in the past, and she couldn’t wrap her head around the fact that I was reflecting and addressing something I didn’t like in my past behavior
Or they just lie like my ex narc did 😮 his mother kept asking me for more money so she could buy her alcohol 🍸on top of paying her rent. I said no because I didn't have it, I was the ONLY one taking care of OUR son. He got mad at me, so I asked him, "Would he do that for my mother?" He said yes 😂 after I discarded him, he didn't even pay child support, so I know that he wouldn't have supported my mother's alcoholism. If she was one smh 🤦😤
I asked my narc ex husband what HE would do if he caught ME in an affair? He assured me that he would "forgive me!" 🤣😂🤣 Was he FRIGGING KIDDING ME? He couldn't even "forgive me" for being mad at him 6 months before that!
I asked my ex-wife if she would want her sons to be with someone like her. She was shacking her head no unconsciously and bouncing around the question. She did not have the words to make up a lie🤦🏾♂️
Well, I have asked mine. Would you want our daughter to find a future husband like you? He said, "No, my daughter won't find someone like me because she's smart." I'm like. Oh, so I wasn't smart when i got with you? He said he didn't say that I said that. LIKE WHAT? 🙄
Yup. When I asked him how he would feel if a man was speaking to his daughter the way he was speaking to me (very abusively) his response was to get MORE angry at me and tell me that he was certain his daughter was smart and caring enough that she would never deserve such treatment from a man, so it was a ridiculous question, a "diversion tactic" on my part to even bring it up, and he wasn't going to entertain it.
When I said "you'll know what it's like if your next partner treats you like you treated me;" he got upset. But just a few sentences prior he was telling me how he wasn't treating me that bad. He was just "an azzhole" for maybe a month and I was crazy for thinking it was that bad. Pick a lane? Of course not. Whatever fits the narrative right then.
Yup, after he put hands on me while pregnant i said how would u feel if someone did that to onenof our girls and he said Id tell her she shouldnt disrespect a man to the point he wants to put hisnhands on her.
This is true. He thinks my daughter should date someone like him because he is a good man. I told him that my daughter would ALWAYS be crying.
That's so on point!!! My narc says exactly this..."what did they do" you're examples are so freakishly accurate on every account!
Exactly, he could never see outside of his own self. I wouldn't do that. No empathy or understanding of anyone else.
A bunch of word salad, they can never answer the question
It's completely maddening 😵💫
Mine said he would blame our daughter because she should’ve chosen better. Laughable honestly because he’s honestly speaking about me towards himself. 🙄😭
It’s called not having empathy.
Yeah, but asking people to see it from another person's point of view is a technique known to induce empathy in those with low levels of it. So sometimes it can work with a narcissist, albeit maybe only to encourage cognitive empathy, rather than emotional.
Or "leave my fing kids out your mouth ". Lol crazy making cycle runs in the family. I had to get out and not look back.
Hello lee.they live in nonreality shoes 👞 👟 pretending very well 😮😮 well said🎉🎉.
It sure does not work at all!!! I’ve tried asking this in different ways many times.. either the answer has been something off the wall or tried gaslighting me into thinking im crazy some how for even asking it or just disregarding the me and the questions all together.. smh
YES SIR!!! I’ve had that conversation TOO MANY TIMES with him. UGHHHHHH!!!!
What keeps you coming back? $$$$$$

Yep they have a major problem and this is why I stay away from toxic and narcissistic people done
Yeah spot on. Zero empathy. Zero compassion.

That's exactly what they do verbatim
I asked my ex-wife if she would want her sons to be with someone like her. She was shacking her head no unconsciously and bouncing around the question. She did not have the words to make up a lie🤦🏾♂️
My narc used to simply say "I can't put myself in someone else's shoes". She was very aware of that aspect of herself and didn't try to hide it.
This makes sense because they don't have the ability to empathize. If they're a narc towards you imagine how they possibly treat their kids .

I used to get the blank stare followed by random word salad and endless arguing about shit that happened when Abraham Lincoln was the president 😂😂😂😂😂
Facts!
When I said "you'll know what it's like if your next partner treats you like you treated me;" he got upset. But just a few sentences prior he was telling me how he wasn't treating me that bad. Yup, after he put hands on me while pregnant i said how would u feel if someone did that to onenof our girls and he said Id tell her she shouldnt disrespect a man to the point he wants to put hisnhands on her.
